So many ways to look at it. The Big 12 ,especially the North, is so bad that a good record is deceptive. KU should have a better record and are snake bit, yet at the same time they simply are not a good football team. Okie State, Baylor, Toledo are pathetic football teams. AM might be the worst 6-1 team in the last decade.

I am watching from afar, but losing games like this falls on the human buffet. He has built something decent, but they would be much better off getting someone else who can take them up to the next level.

I don't disagree with you. By no means do I think they are a good team.
But they play to their oppositions level every week and then implode. Could they very easily be 8-0? Yes. But that doesnt mean they are a good football team. That is mostly a result of the schedule.

Not sure where I fall on the Mangino arguement yet. A lot of people agree with you here. No way he's gone in the next year or so, though... he signed a big extension before this year. He's brought us from being a pathetic program to one that can compete... So I am indebted for that... but that is stupid.

No disrespect Sun &Thor but this is KU football we are talking about This is the next level!! for them!! Fact is Mangino has done a good job there not sure they can hire anyone better who would want that gig!

Randy Edsahl was all packed and ready to come here before last season.

Believe me... this job would get interest. They have an improving team... and the facilities have been upgraded, big time.

It isnt the most prestigious job in the world, but there are plenty of viable coaches who would be very interested.

Again, not saying I would want Mangino out. I havent really been able to answer that question to myself. Not sure we would be improved with someone else.

WOW, there is something scooter doesn't know or have a skewed opinion on???

I can't speak for kansas' upgrade, but facilities important to recruits can include a nice stadium, preferably on campus, state of the art practice field and weight room, and of course a tip top football dorm, with training table. (Meals)

Obviously all of the extras may not be the most important aspect of a recruits choice, especially with top ten shcools, but it could make a difference with a middle tier school, such as kansas, wash. st., pitt, etc.

My roommate wrote this article for the Daily Kansan.... $31 million for a new football complex.

And yes, facilities are VERY important. Facilities help bring in recruits. Coaches tend to like that.
