The FOOL pulls Oswalt after 7 strong innings with less than 90 pitches.....

Okay, dumb move, but you can put Dotel in for the 8th right?

Yep, Dotel gets a couple outs.....now the FOOL puts in Wags to face Dunn -- one of the quickest bats.....well, we walk him......

Then Wags is in there to face A. Boone, who Wags has NEVER GOTTEN OUT!!!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS WAGS DOING IN THERE IN THE 8TH INNING IN THE 1st PLACE??????

3 Run HR!!!!

What the hell is Wiliams thinking????

86 pitches and a shutout going???? Anyone watching the game?? Was Oswalt tiring???

I'm glad we got rid of the bum...Grady Little is no Lou Pinella, but he's much better than Williams...

yes i am sitting here watching the game......Oswalt was cruising....had a couple jams but just threw K's and got some easy outs to get out of them.....nothing really hit too hard.....a couple ground ball hits and one double by Encarcion ground ball to left hugging the line.....

then he pulls Wags instead of pitching him the 9th he puts in some schmuck called Matthews......never pitched a meaningful game in his life and here he is pitching the bottom of the 9th in a 1-1 game!!!!

You get 86 pitches out of Oswalt
2 outs by Dotel
1 out by Wags

then you go to your shit bullpen people.....unreal!!!!

This guy never ceases to amaze me!!!!

I knew that HR was coming once he walked Dunn. You don't pull Dotel to bring Wagner in for a lefty/lefty situation...Dotel throws gas..he can gets lefties out, doesn't matter to him...Dunn isn't hitting anyway, 1 HR, 4 RBI's, .239 avg coming into the game. But it all comes back to yanking Oswalt...who cares about getting a pinch-hitter to lead off the ninth inning when Oswalt was due up (although he got lucky with his backwards thinking since Merced doubled to leadoff the inning)..let Oswalt get three outs and who cares if you score another run. He threw 86 pitches, 69 were strikes . Duh.

Why? Jimmy? Why? I left for work to follow up some charts after top of 4 up 2-0. Listened to updates on the way home up 2-0 top 8th. Come home to find out Oswalt's been pulled after 86 pitches in 7 briliant innings? Had a bad feeling for some reason, and bam! 3 run dinger. Why? Jimmy? Why? Why f**k with a good thing. All he's shown is how inept he is at managing games. Should have left the game alone. 86 fricking pitches!!!

Why? Jimmy? Why? You son of a BITCH!!:moon:

Has it become a law that a Starter can't finish a game? It was one thing when a few teams had actual closers to finish a game but now they put in a stiff to relieve a guy who is pitching a shutout!

No kidding,

You almost have to gargle with Xanax to watch these bad coaching moves

How about Phil up 6-1 the other night against the Marlins,
2 out for the Marlins, men on 2nd and 3rd, 1st base open,
pitcher Tavarez on deck with noone in the ballpen

do they load the bases and pitch to the pitcher

too easy
let's let them jack one out to make it 6-4
and lose it 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th

I guess we could go on with a hundred more examples so far this season. . . .

well, at least my UNDER pushed......

can't think of a much more agonizing storyline for a play on the Astros, Under, and parlay......

maybe a HR would have made it a little worse....but still......unreal.....

they should fire his ass right now

I blame LaRussa for starting this nonsense with the A's in the late 80s. God forbid, Eckersley couldn't go near the mound before the 9th inning. But, come the 9th, he HAD to pitch. I remember seeing him manage the White Sox back in the early 80s and he was never bound by this nonsense. But then all the other managers have followed suit. Its stupid, and none of them has any guts to do it differently, except Torre, who will sometimes bring in Rivera in the 8th.

A friend of mine who covered baseball as a sportswriter for several years claims its all about money, and when they pay the closers big money, they'll bring them in regardless of whether its the right move or not. Sad but true.

Obviously Jimy Williams is going to make it tough for probably ANY of us to trust betting on Houston, as he's showing he'll find a way to screw it up NO MATTER WHAT!!!! Who the hell besides that DUMB ASS pulls his starter when he's cruising through 7, only 86 pitches, 0 runs allowed and only 17 balls out of those 86 pitches. If that isn't the dumbest managerial decision I've seen in a long time, I'm not sure what is  :nono:
