First time poster; really enjoy this site and the most excellent 'cappers! Thanks Jack, I.E. and the usual 'cappers for the best handicapping site on the net!
Wow! What a first day! My sphincter muscle is sore from so many close games. I have spent some extra time looking at these games and here is what I like: (listed by strength of opinion)
Florida -9 and over 140.5: W. Kentucky is a good defensive team but I don't see them scoring enough to keep this game under the spread. Donovan will find a way to counter the big man (Marcus) and I am not very confident with W. Kentucky's guards against Florida. Also, I love the over 140.5 in this game.
Butler +5.5: This should be a very strong play...I have followed Wake Forest all year here on Tobacco Road and they have floundered through the last half of the season. Songalia seems to always be in foul trouble, O'Kelley is hot or cold (mostly cold) and, frankly, Dave Odom is not a great game coach. (oh, I sure hope there aren't any WF fans around) BTW, WF will be without an emotional leader in Craig Dawson, who also brings alot of athleticism to the table, so he will be sorely missed. Strongly considering taking the Moneyline on this game!
Virginia -2.5: This should be a great game! Like most of the public, my initial reaction to this game was a lean to Gonzaga, especially knowing that Va. is not a great team away from home. But after looking at this game a little closer, I think Va. matches up well with Gonzaga, especially Hand vs. Dickau and Watson vs. Calvary. Feeling good about Va.!
Xavier-pk : (small play) Call this pick a "hunch" or "gut" pick. Notre Dame seems to have lost some luster and Xavier will want revenge for last year's NIT elimination.
Penn St. +3 : (small play) Another hunch; Penn St just seems to have the "makeup" of a team that could do well in postseason; or at least for this game anyway.
Totals: (ranked by strength of opinion)
1)UNC/Princeton over 123.5: game should be in the lower 130s.(Strong)
2)CSN/Kansas under 153: Kansas is always just a "tick or two" off away from home.(Strong)
3)Fla./W.Kent. over 140.5
4)Ill/NW St. under 140.5: see this as an "ugly" game, maybe in the 120s, lower 130s.
5)Mich. St./Ala. St. over 129.5: pissed off Mich. St.team will help this game go over.
Again, I thoroughly enjoy this site and welcome any opinions, information, or thoughts!
Now, time to get some sleep and wake up ready to draw that sphincter muscle up again for 12 more hours. Good luck everybody and remember, there are still alot games left this weekend so pace yourself!
