Buddy: My point is that the world would be a better place is religion was flushed from it. What do you think the Middle East would be like if religion was pulled out of the equation? Do you think it would be a better, more peaceful place? Or, do you think it would be worse?
I don't understand the "unpopular path" comment, considering Christianity is the most popular religion in the country.
In the bible, Jesus made repeated warnings of false prophets:
Matthew 7:15 ~ "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
Matthew 15:19 ~ "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies"
Matthew 24:11 ~ "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."
Jeremiah 14:14 ~ "Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart."
Zecariah 10:2 ~ "For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because [there was] no shepherd."
Maybe the unpopular path comment was particular to me. Being a chief sinner and now living a life free of porn, wordly desires, vulgarity and self centerdness seems very strange and unpopular.
As a brother in Christ recently told me, "The things of the earth grow strangely dim."
