What's your point? Don't policeman wear guns on their belts in New York? Aren't they issued by the department? I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that when police officers accept the position there is a much stronger chance they may see their fate come to fruition with gunplay. It's a risk they take. Dying by gunfire isn't a risk you consider as one you'd be taking when simply standing on a street corner waiting on a friend.
The untimely death of any human being is a tragedy to someone. We live in a violent society and culture. If you want to truly mourn and/or celebrate these officers, rather than using their deaths as a sounding board or rallying cry for intolerance, racism, bigotry, and violence being justified, do something to bring about a change in the culture. There's a reason we kill and incarcerate more citizens than any other country. Too many are more concerned with preserving old arcane ways because they are afraid of change. You won't ever stop change. It's the only constant in life, something will change momentarily. I assure you of that. Change will come whether you try to deny it or not, it's just a matter of what form it will take, compromise or revolution. It takes more strength and character to adapt and accept than to ridicule and reject. Try doing something to make your world a better place to be lowell and maybe someday you'll realize how easily happiness follows compassion and kindness.
Hope this helps,
