My 5 and 6yo sons' baseball team won their playoff game last night. Today, my 6yo was selected to play in the all-star game. Tomorrow, they play for a spot in the championship game. I am a proud coach, but a far prouder dad.

I had no idea that you hang out with Stevie Nicks. I hope you and Stevie enjoy Rod Stewart:toast:

Have a 5 and 6 year old as well. I have not had time in the past to coach them due to my coaching responsibilities at my school, but those just ended. How has your experience been and do you foresee you continuing to do so in the future? I guess it is a "I do not want my kids to have a bad experience because I am harder on them and expect more from them" type of thing.
Thanks

"the bunker"
i purchased a product online that i was pretty pleased with(a new kind of lawn sprinkler)....i dropped the mofo on it`s head and it snapped...

so when i went to the website to order another, they were sold out and i had to e mail them to get on a waiting list....when i shot them the e mail,i mentioned that i had one of their products, liked it and i broke mine(my fault) and that i wanted on the waiting list....

she shot me back an e mail stating that if i sent them my address, they`d send me a replacement free of charge...

i was skeptical...but lo and behold,i received the replacement today....iyou could have blown me over with a feather....needless to say,the lady that i dealt with has some pistachios coming her way just because she was a peach and went the extra mile....

doesn`t happen very often.....

/good timing with the thread sporty...green box coming your way..

seeing my brother-in-law for the first time in a while tomorrow,

he sounded like his attitude was real positive and he is doing well after the heart surgery...up to two 20 minute walks a day today.

I hear ya. I am harder on my kids than the other kids, but not to the point they do not enjoy it. I hear idiot dads out there threatening their kids with punishments/spankings if they strike out. Other dads offer them monetary gifts. I think all of that is nuts. I just want them to play hard and have fun.

The thing is, you will get a feel for what works for your kids. Next season my 6yo will be in 7-8's. Since he responds a little better to other coaches than me, I will probably let him play for someone else next season.

My little one just turned 5 mid-season, so was supposed to be playing tee-ball again. He asked me to let him play coach-pitch, and I knew he could do it, so I brought him up and it paid dividends. He had a great season and a ton of fun. Since he responds well to me, I will probably coach him again in 5-6 next season.
