Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the gas station.

A Gallon is a Gallon!

To keep things in perspective, even though it still hurts & we don't like it...

For those who have forgotten their measurements and prices:

1 cup = 8 ounces
2 cups = 1 pint = 16 ounces
2 pints = 1 quart = 32 ounces
4 quarts = 1 gallon = 128 ounces

You Think A Gallon Of Gas Is Expensive? Makes one think and puts things in perspective.

Check out these prices:

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29.....$10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19.....$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59.....$10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25.....$10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15.....$33.60 per gallon

Vicks Nyquil 6 oz $8.35.....$178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85.....$123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....$25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99.....$84.48 per gallon

This is the REAL KICKER
Evian Water 9 oz $1.49.....$21.19 per gallon.
$21.19 FOR WATER! And the buyers don't even know the source.

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, Whiteout, PEPTO BISMOL or NYQUIL!

....you left out some of these perfumes.....a few ounces cost you a c-note or more......figure out what a gallon would set you back...

.....kinda like looking at some of those vacuum wrapped beef jerky strips you can buy at the counter of the gas station....figure up the cost per pound.....God I can buy a good steak for that $$

never seen it broken down like this, but I have often commented to my wife or whoever else was bitching about the high price of gasoline to be glad they weren't filling the tank with bottled water.

djv..Do you have that much of a hard on for Bush that you believe everything that is put on the news?? It was also reported that the guy that wrote this book also had gotten a deathbed confession from someone in a coma. Do you just pick and choose what you want to hear about someone so that it fits your so called beliefs??

I mean give me a break..the way you post things here you must think that Bush is Satan himself.

What you dont believe Bush hopes gas prices go down before the election. I give a chit about the book. All though Bush himself calls it very good. I dont think it takes to much thought. And if I had a real hard on for Bush. I would not be as easy as I have been. You must not have been around when we ate Clintons lunch.

Lemme see. Oil was around $11 /bbl in '97/'98 for WTI, even less for heavy stuff (about $9.00). Was paying about $1.05 down to $1.00 a gallon back then.

Today oil is $36/ bbl for same WTI and/or sweet crude and a gallon is about $1.75.

Being crude the main ingredient in producing gasoline, I don;t know how they keep these prices actually. We're talking triple price of oil and only 75% increase in gasoline. Either somebody was screwing us then (which they probably were) or somebody's eating it now, subsidizing (which I doubt). So, what's going on?

Oh, I know, probably a great percentage in the cost of gasoline is the TAXES we pay, which are fixed per gallon. You know, the taxes Kerry, among others, approved. I don't know, I just guess that that has to be the reason.

Anybody care to enlighten me?

Nosigar the fed tax is same for all 18 cents. Has been for over 10 years. Unless that changed and I didn't catch it. And that would have been the United States Congress. However your state taxes are the ones that can be as little as 0. And I believe the highest is 25 cents. Hawai or Calf. Congress has no control over those. You do.

Being a refinery worker and always dealing with the gouging idea I a gallon of gas will propell your car or sub, loaded with your stuff and maybe towing somethig at least ten miles or more. try walking 10 miles and then you will apporeciate the low cost of gas compared to the rst of the world. I t seems expensive but it is less expensive now compared to the past when people made a a couple buck's per hour and paid 25 or 35 cents per gall. a higher % of their hourly income was spent on gas.

supply/demand demand for oil rose by 1.7 million barrels last year (1.6-1.8) and will rise by the same amount or greater this year.

The strange thing is walking or peddling a bike 10 miles will help you live a lot longer then the ride in the car. And the cost is only time. A city bus is still cheap in my neck of the woods 75 cents.
First gas I purchased for my auto was 19 cents a gallon 1958/59. And I never payed over 37 cents till 1972. Then all hell started to break lose. Up she went and up, up, it's never came back down but for a few dips that never last more then a few months.
What we never see anymore is price wars. Many time one brand at one station would start a price war. I baught gas as low as 15 cent a gallon when that happen. And in the late 60's 28 cents. Now they all stick togeather and stick it to us. As for the math if we have gas at 20 cents in 1960. 20 cents increase for every 10 year period after that. You get a Buck. Seems fair. Where $1.80 came form seems a touch high. In fact anything over $1.30 seems high.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with you choosing to drive a bus that gets 4 miles to the gallon.

F**K THAT ... it's too friggin' expensive ... I don't give a crap about the cost in comparison to other products. I don't buy 10 or more gallons a week of Pepto Bismol and if someone does, you have bigger problems than the price of gas.

What pisses me off is that they are raking us over by purposely cutting production and stuff to boost profits.

We definitely need to figure out a way to make cars run on something different whether it be electricity, solar power, or better yet ... water! ... for the environment if nothing else!

Georgia has the lowest at 7.5 cents per gallon, while good ol Wisconsin leads the tax parade, yet again, with 31.1 cents per gallon.
