Ok, on to the real stuff now!

Seniors off to Naples, for me it's

Allen Doyle...looked ok so far this season and always plays well in Naples - 20/1 Cbet

Des Smyth ...turned into a medium size bet at 33...he could be the class of the year after his Q-school win..won recently on Euro Tour, and although Ebihara poor performance last week is a slight worry, any thing in the region of top 10 will see him shorter for weeks to come

and a match bet!! Quigley to beat Barr (Stan James)...if they'd come up with this one last week I'd have probably had my single biggest loss ever!! An over-reaction surely on the man with the putter from his garage!

And Skybet price up the ALPG Players Championship...hurrah...

Paula Marti 10/1 defending champ, and I can plaster a few pics of her over the site if she wins...hell, I'll do it anyway!!

Alison Munt 66/1...fair local player in good form

Lis Esterl 20/1..promising German, top 10 here last year and a star of the future...poor dress sense though!

And this from Martin Park, Ladies European Tour Director of Comms:
"Sophie is great value at 16's, she's hitting the ball beautifully, having seen her coach Terry Creevy for a few imrpovements over the winter - watch her at AAMI and ANZ, worth a punt I think and perhaps a million dollar season again."

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
OUTRIGHTS:

Tom Watson(9/1) for 0.60* e.w. @ Bet365
I hitched my wagon to Tom Watson?s star at first sight on a Saturday afternoon at the Hawaiian Open in 1973, several months before Watson first teamed with Bruce Edwards. It's not just wishful thinking on my part when I tell ya, ?The gleam in his eyes is back.? Florida this week seems about right.

Des Smyth(20/1) for 0.50* e.w. @ Bet365
Primed for fortune and celebrity.

Hubert Green(40/1) for 0.40* e.w. @Bet365
I thought he looked fairly sharp last week as he delivered an uncharacteristically solid early season performance ? a Top 5 for the 5th time in his last 15 events. Hubie apparently sustains the feel behind his best senior play.

Fuzzy Zoeller(28/1) for 0.40* e.w. @ Bet365
He might uncork a few birdies or bogies that are leftovers from last week.

That looks better than last week.

May the kiss of death be upon us - can't resist a decent punt on Des Smyth - not words I've said in the past!! - Hills have been forced to trim the 33 and some kind soul gave me 35/1 on Betfair.

Outright plays (1 unit):

Tom Watson to win 10/1 e.w. @ Boyle, Centrebet and Five Dimes
Unfortunate to lose out to Irwin last year having led for the first two rounds. He finished one shot back that time and there are good indicators that he will at least match that performance. The season is only two weeks old, but he still tops the greens in regulation, birdie average, scoring average and par breakers Tour stats.

Gil Morgan to win 20/1 e.w. @ Stan James
Like Watson last year, Morgan failed to hold on to a two-shot lead heading into the final round last week. He also finished 2nd, which makes three runners-up spots in his last five starts. Against that form and twice being a winner of this event (1998 and 2001), these odds look rather generous.

Dana Quigley to win 25/1 e.w. @ Stan James, Centrebet and Five Dimes
Quigley normally starts the season in excellent form - surely no-one will work as hard as he does during the close season - and duly won the first event of the year. He finished with a top-10 finish last week after a poor 1st round, so his form is as good as anyone's on Tour. He can also boast an excellent history in this event with just one finish outside the top-10 in five starts and was a top-5 finisher last year having played in the final group on the Sunday. These odds just look large for someone in such good form.

Dana Quigley at 25/1 Stan James seems too good to miss.
Did me a favour a fortnight ago and a decent 10th last week. Must be supported again with his excellent form in this 5th, 2nd & 6th in the last 3 years.

Matchup plays (1 unit):

Dave Barr to beat Gary Koch -115 @ Five Dimes
Wouldn't normally back the previous week's winner in the outrights, but little reason not to do so in matchups. He finished the 2002 season with his best finish of the year and started 2003 in impressive style. Looks like he has finally come to terms with the Champions Tour and could be set for a good run. Koch faltered after a bright start last week and is opposed.

Des Smyth to beat Seiji Ebihara -130 @ Five Dimes
Ebihara was a huge disappointment last week, finished 72nd of 80 players. Not sure how well he can recover from that, but Smyth was very impressive in the Champions Tour Q-School and was a winner on the European Tour less than two years ago. I don't think he will be as impressive on this Tour as on the European Seniors, but should put in a decent performance on his Tour debut.

Bobby Wadkins to beat Stewart Ginn -133 @ Five Dimes
Both have beaten the other once this term, but Wadkins had a comfortable nine-shot victory last week en route to finishing 2nd. It was a fine comeback after being the clear leader after the first round and suffering badly in the second. Expect him to at least match last year's top-15 finish.

Australian local knowledge paying off in the ALPG event, with my three way down.
Sophie G hanging on in 4th place. If she does have her game back, the 125/1 Money list bet w/o Annika and SeRi could be a big price..

Final update:

Matchups: 2-0-0; +2.00 units

Barr/Koch WON by 12
Smyth/Ebihara WON by 13

Outrights: 2-1; -0.25 units

Watson 2nd
Morgan 4th
Quigley 49th

Only event of the week to be in profit and with the exception of Quigley, at least I did have a handle on this event. Watson came close and Morgan did manage a share of 4th place to earn back his stake, but it certainly was a surprising winner in Vicente Fernandez - he hadn't won an event since 2000. Wadkins did not tee off.

Champions Tour ytd
Matchups: 5-5; +0.67 units
