that game landing on 9 would have been the biggest cluster fuck Vegas has seen Since I can remember. If you have a competent line service and saw the line get hammered all day between 7 to 10 points. the sharps laying 7, 7.5, 8, line jumped to 10 and they buy it back down before game time. You guys can argue with me all you want about the coaches decision to decline the safety. In my opinion from a game standpoint it was the wrong decision. I take a 2 score lead with 40 seconds left and take my chances that Seattle would have to recover an onside punt and score. Then recover an onside kick and score again in 40 seconds with no timeouts. Chances of a center to QB fumble are far greater in my opinion. Which would give Seattle the ball down 7. BUT considering it was the only NFL game on and more than average money on the game, there was a lot more at stake than a coaching decision. If the game falls 9. The house gets killed . Plain and simple as that.

40 seconds up 9 "COULD" lead to 8-10 more plays

1 snap/kneel and the game was over

why risk 8-10 more plays????

if i were a fan/coach or the niners i'd rather kneel and win than take a safety and then see what transpires over the next 40 seconds/8-10 plays

if you ran a simulation of which outcome caused the niners to lose

taking the safety would offer a greater chance to lose

both options are close to 0, but taking 1 knee = win = right call

you need to take a probability course

1 snap = knee = win
if things go wrong sea still has to score and then still has to win in OT

safety = 44 seconds = 8-10 possible plays = sea scores twice you lose

again......both chances are close to 0 but taking 1 knee and letting the clock run out clock minimizes the chances of a loss more so than taking the safety

ask yourself this.....if you were pete carroll which option would YOU hope sf chose??? no doubt i'd hope harbaugh took the safety.

Bird...I only had SF in a teaser and I agree with you man!! Everyone saying otherwise I don't agree with. Not only is it "IMPOSSIBLE" for SEA to win down 9 with 40 seconds left....but my thinking is why I sent I/E a note prior to the game in his thread today about line movement. If this line didn't move the way it did prior to game time...I very well "may" be thinking different. But this line went from 6.5-9 or so and back to 7 in a matter of hours today- that shit doesn't happen often. Those that say it does is full of shit. The line movement today was crazy and to see what happened at the end of the game.....that is FISHY!!!!

Again...I didn't loose....but this just doesn't happen out of circumstance.......at least I don't think it does. I have no idea what this means...who is involved...how one can even be involved.....but it just smells

By declining the safety, the 49ers ended up winning 13-6. Those extra two points left off the board hurt everyone betting on the 49ers to cover a 7- to 8-point spread. Those who took the Seahawks cheered in disbelief at Las Vegas sports books.

John Avello, head of the race and sports book for the Wynn in Las Vegas, said the reaction to Harbaugh taking points off the board was even crazier than it was in Week 3, when the replacement refs ruled that the Seahawks' Golden Tate scored a touchdown, giving Seattle the win against the Green Bay Packers, and all who bet on them the win against the spread.

The worldwide swing in bets for that game, including online and overseas sports books, was estimated at as little as $150 million and as much as $1 billion.

"This game was just as much of a swing, if not more," Avello said.

Don't like either team and had no play on it but i personally take the safety and go up by 2 scores every single time.

If you have the lead, and the ball and control running the clock out with one snap......who in their right mind would take more points??? All your doing is risking that you'll get back to the scenario above to win the game

All I am saying is it smells fishy....do I say the fix is in...no...did I say Harbaugh had a clue...no...all I am saying it is fishy especially with the line movement day of the game...just bizarre circumstances. Maybe it is just circumstance.....but I have my right to my opinion that it is fishy. You don't like it...F off :toast:
