Tonite NBC's The Restaurant starts its 2nd season.It's about Rocco DiSpirto and how he started his own rest with his mother.
I must admitt I did watch it last season.
But when my daughter got envolved with the NBC producers of the show I realized reality TV is really not what its made up to be.
My daughter l'box goes to an eastern Pa college{East Stroudsberg] Back in early November she was approached by a fellow male student about being on the TV show The Restaurant.Her friend models in NYC and he was asked to get his girlfriend or a female friend and come to NYC to tape a segment of the TV show.They wanted to set him up eating with his pretend girlfriend[my daughter] and either break up with her or have a fight[not physical] with the camera's rolling at the restaurant.
My daughter at first said yes.They would be paid $300 to $400 a day and the shootings would be 2 to 3 days.The producers called my daughter and talked to her several times.
But when the dates were given it was in mid- December.Right during finals week.My daughter called me and my wife up and of course we told there was no way you could do it.She agreed because the 3 days of filming in NYC were right in the middle of exam week.
She informed the NBC producers and they were somewhat upset.
Her male friend understood and in a week got another girl from his hometown to take my daughters place.
They filmed the scene and am not sure when that scene will be showned.So tonite or next week or whenever when you see a college couple fighting at the dinner table you all will know it was set up.
Might look like reality TV but really isn't.
Plus my daughters boyfriend back home said they if l'box ever did go thru with it,he would have a real fight with her.lol
