The Tailing Willie Experiment

Towards the end of last season I posted a thread asking Willie about his wagering strategy. Not regarding his actual picks, which I have acknowledged are second to none in terms of consistency over multiple seasons, but instead having to do with unit allocation. It is a pretty interesting read if you missed it: http://madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368397&highlight=russellk

My theory is that using nothing but Willie's own picks, I can make more profit than he will. I know nothing about hockey and don't even like the sport (blasphemy living in Toronto) so I couldn't cap my own games even if I wanted to, but I do like to win money and tailing Willie is a good way to do that (as I have learned over the past 4 seasons). The only difference is that instead of betting gold-3, silver-2 and bronze-1 (total 6), I will only bet gold and put all 6 units on it. I do not bet silver or bronze. I know it can be scary to makes bets that big, but overall I will have roughly the same number of units wagered over the course of the season.

I will post here to keep track of everything. I will also post my own plays in other sports. But I will keep to separate records, TW (tailing Willie) and RP (Russell plays). I am 1-0 with Willie's first gold and I will include that in the record, as well as the 2 plays that have already started tonight, since the goal of this is not to tout my own accomplishments, but instead to compare this money management strategy with Willie's, so I want to include the entire season for a fair comparison. My own plays of course will start at 0-0.

Good luck on whoever you bet, and most of all GO WILLIE!!!!! Thank you for continuing to share brother :toast:

TW: 1-0 +$600
RP: 0-0

Tor ML +150

Adding one more of my own plays.

I am tailing Canada Man with the Blackhawks, but I too do not like the juice, so....

NYJ ML + Chi ML (+165)
100 to win 165

Good Luck Russell. I agree - you can't go wrong tailing Willie's gold plays. He has proven over multiple seasons that the "Goldens" will pull a long-term profit. Good Luck this season.

Excellent. I thought of doing the same thing, as in playing his best bets. I was gonna wait a week or 2, should be interesting.
