i know the game is being played in the cotton bowl in texas....

i am trying to get a perspective for capping purposes of who has the advantage..since it is being played in texas, would texas have the home field advantage..or should it be considered as a neutal site ?

thanks for any opinions...

Al, the Cotton Bowl really is a neutral site. Even though the game is played in Texas it doen't give UT any type of home field advantage. The tickets are split 50-50 and half of the stadium is wearing crimson and the other half burnt orange. It's one of the greatest traditions and experiences in all of CFB.

IMO this game will come down to Texas' lack of a running game of any significance and their inexperience in the secondary. I think OU wins and covers.

AR,

Probably off topic to what you are looking for, but it is still relevant to this game.

I read years ago that if two teams are playing and both are 5-0 or better, take the underdog.

I happened across this during Oklahoma's run to the title in 2000 and won with them twice that year in that role....its been a solid trend ever since, although not had the situation as often in recent years.

But, I have lost all my information on this system/trend....wondering if you have ever come across this in your trend researching.

OU is an absolute steal minus the 7. This is truely a spectacle game. OU is the home team so their sideline gets shade first. Half the stadium is burnt orange and half is whatever disgusting shade of mar(o)on they wear. In NCAA I am 5-0 +16 units. This has been on the backbone and balance of the Sooners. Officially I am posting OU -7 for 5 units in this thread. They are a great offensive and defensive team this year.

Good luck guys whichever way you play. Sooner Alum here, and this is definitely a no play right now. 40% chance of rain on Saturday.

HAs anyone taken in consideration the new defensive coordinator, last time Mac stole a defense genuis from Auburn they won the national championship. I believe that is the deference between Texas this year and last year, but Texas might be one year away :scared
Muschamp and the touchdown, most teams dont get the bonus of scoring any touchdowns against his blizing defense:scared Would really look at the under also in this game.

Texas + the points for me, especially if it jumps to 8 or 9. Texas has played nobody, neither has OU. This week its OU and next week it is Missouri for Texas. I think Colt McCoy is playing at an elite level and he keeps them it in until the end, I may also take them on the ml. Bobby Stoops has had problems in big games the last few years and #1 seems to fall each week, it may be too much pressure for them.

good luck with whatever you play.
