breaking the schedule into 1/4's because that is usually how the teams break the schedule's down...

their first 4 games are pretty tough...i will say 2-2.

their next 4 games.....i will say 3-1.

next 4..............i will also say 3-1.

final 4............i will say 2-2.

i have them going 10-6..but a pretty shaky 10-6 because it is conceivable of them also going 8-8 or 9-7.

imo the viking's season depends on if their 2dary & their receiving corp have improved..& of course if their qb has improved. last year with jackson at qb the vikes went 8-4...but he did throw 12 ints & 9 tds...which is not good.jackson is going to have to do much better if the vikes want to get into the playoffs (which we all know).

1st 4 games could go 0-4 (Car. game toss up).

Next 4 games 4-0 (Chi-town never easy, 3-1 at best)

Next 4 games 2-2

Last 4 games 2-2, NYG looking for BIG PAY BACK

Good D, no QB...........Low scoring games......
Vikes 7-9............

everyone is handing this division to gb or minny

why?

i see every team having a chance
det as the least likely to win the division
nobody being better than 11 wins (10 likely the division winner)

all have qb ?
all have good defenses but det

i still say dont count out the the bears....they have everybody back on defense (+ a few new young players) and if they stay healthy on defense the could be similar to how they were in 2005 when they won with defense and a conservative offense at 11-5.

minny still has questions in the defensive backfield and at qb....but boy can they run the ball.

gb has questions at qb, leadership, distractions, schedule, plus not sold on their defense.

det still has questions on defense and now without martz they actually may be a bit more conservative and balanced on offense.

wide open division in my eyes.

pretty much agree with your assessment...the bears season rest on how well they run the ball...imo the bears got an excellent back in the draft.

agree. love forte as well....love williams at right tackle which moves tait to left tackle...the line should be much better because of both those moves.

that said, would actually feel much better if the bears looked into 2 more moves:

1) lacharles bentley to play guard/center, think he's still f/a after getting released by clev

2) sign another rb behind forte so he doesnt have 300+ carries (prefer kevin jones)

however, dont think the bears make either move and should forte get banged up or not be the real deal i dont like ap/wolfe as every down backs.

wolfe ?...is that the back from northern illinois ?

if it is the bears should copy what the giants did with jacobs & the kid from marshall (can't think of his name right now)...alternating the big back with the scat back......also would like to see the bears use their te more....but it all rests on grossman cutting down on the mistakes.

as far as bentley is concerned..i think i read that miami is after him....& have never been impressed much with jones..always seems to get hurt.

love talking football...instead of politics....:mj07:

AR:

Yes, Wolfe is the kid from NIU. Bradshaw is the guy from Marshall for the Giants. I think that guy is a true gem that the Giants will prosper with.

My opinion is that Minnesota will be lucky to win two of the eight road games. I grew up a stone's throw from the Twin Cities and have plenty of friends who are Viking fans who think they are gonna be amazing this year. I just don't see it. As I said in the other thread, the Jackson factor is gonna be the team's achilles heel in my opinion.

The Bears are a far more formidible foe for Green Bay in the North. Rex has at least shown he can be a playmaker at times, and they def. have the suppporting cast.

I still think Green Bay is the class of that division. (Full Disclosure: I am a Wisconsin native, but I am NOT a Packer fan)

The Bears have no shot. The defense is getting older. The QB still sucks. Who do they throw the ball too?

almost every member of that defense is still in it's 20's (except urlacher)

steltz-harrison-bowman are great draft picks who should see plenty of action.

as for the qb position...kitna, rodgers, jackson

a trifecta of shit-bags, i wouldnt say that chi qb situation is any worse and orton/grossman have better win % as a starter and led a team to a division title......with a healthy defense + this division they can do the same.

as for the receiving corp....not many names, but actually like them better than last year.....plus, who did orton throw to in 2005 when they went 11-5 and won the division easily?

i'd actually say that the tight ends (clark-olsen) will get tons of action this year in the passing game with hester opening up the middle of the field.

Where it is real F ing COLD
I think the Vikes will be better on the road than most people think. That road schedule isn't that tough. The Vikings won 8 games last year and would of won 9 if williamson doesn't drop a throw where he is wide open for a TD.

QB. Jackson won't be great but can easily see him being better than last year with Berrian, Rice in is second year and Wade at the slot.

RB- Peterson and Taylor. Enough said.

OL- Now this I think is over rated group on the pass block. Vikes QBs ran for life

TE- Good Blockers but receiving SUCKS

WR- Berrian is immediate upgrade. Had 1000 yards for the Bears. Rice has tons of talent.

DL - Better with Allen.

LB will improve just because Greenway is in second year.

DBs should improve. Winfield is solid. The other corners in McCaulley and Griffith should improve because they were so inexperienced.

Safety- Sharper over rated but getting rid of Dwight Smith and bringing in Nadue Williams is BIG. Smith was Terrible.

So I dont see how this team can do worse this year when they have improved so much, but again it is on paper.

Give Favre to the Viqueens and suddenly Minnesota looks like a Super Bowl team.

One thing that is going to REALLY Hurt the Viqueens is the loss of Tony Richardson. Trust me, this guy blocked like a mad man for years in KC and the Chiefs could always run the ball. He leaves and suddenly KC can't run the ball worth a damn.

Adrian Peterson is really going to miss this old man.

:nono: Tony Richardson is a great blocker, but i would give more of the credit or lack there and the destruction of the running game to Herm Edwards, this guy could stop an ARMY TANK from running, much less a running back...seeing him on the sidelines just makes me think the team he dones clothing for has a better shot at losing rather then winning.

i'm not a viking fan at all BUT i like this team this year:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

they're starting to smell like the 49ers of last year.....everybody was on their jock, pumping them up......then the season started and nothing happend

vikes have a good d-line and running game, after that i seriously question their pass defense and quarterback.
