What is up with so many online articles being slideshows? If I click on something, I want to read it and be done, not click 10 more times, wait for a few pictures to load, etc. I thought if I stayed away from Bleacher Report that would be enough but more regular online news sites use this.

Of all those, I have only been to Ireland, and they were very friendly - Cheerio! was a common sound in the pubs.

Iceland and New Zealand are definitely near the top of my list. People in Ghana were extremely friendly too (I got about 500 marriage proposals when I was there).

Whoa! That is being quite "friendly."

LOL

Yes, unfortunately I don't think it was due to all my better qualities, but solely due to the fact that my skin is a whiter shade of pale. They don't like to take "no" for an answer, but after I learned to speak their language, I would respond with their native tongue and set my dowry at a very high price, and then I would get some good laughs. Great people - unmaterialistic and loving.

Ghana is just south of Burkino Faso, which is on the list, so I'm guessing it would be a similar experience.

I spent a summer in Austria at the University of Innsbruck when I was 20 or 21. Hell of a good time. Locals were very cool, even though we were loud college kids getting hammered nightly. I have fond memories of that summer and share a bond with those that went with me. The only negative from that summer was learning that Jerry Garcia died way too young my last week there.
