According to Sportsbook *****,

"12.04.2005 (08:51 PM CST)
Sportsbooks get mauled again as speculation of failures picks up steam. Players need to be aware that this football season has been one of the worst seasons on record for sportsbooks and may end up being the worst of the modern era. Player funds are at risk in lower rated books that do not have the staying power of the large well funded sportsbooks. *** recommends players exercise caution and only hold funds in sportsbooks rated B+ or higher."

I hope each season is like that :)

books will make it up, no problem, with bowls, nba and college hoops.

however, to be on the safe side, i'd keep my offshore balances lower than normal. that's why neteller is such a key tool for money transfers.

Ditto Jack--Used to always draw down suspect books at conclusion of golf as precaution against small outs possibly going under at conclusion of foots--however don't think it is as relevant as before with infusion of casinos and poker who I suspect bring in revenue with a no loss angle.

it's not only hitting the on-line, but I called my local on sunday only to have him tell me he's closed up shop, he's said he's down about $40k and can't afford to lose any more.

He said last week on the indy/tenn game he took 30 bets on the game 29 on indy 1 on tenn then on monday night he had 42 bets on Seattle 0 on Philly, and those two games were the straw that broke the camels back as they say.

can't say I feel sorry for him, he's been taking my money the past couple of years, needless to say I got it all back this year and then some.

Some seriously bad lines this year. I had to control myself yesterday on New England -4. That line was a joke. No Moulds, the implosion the week before against the Dolphins. Hammered it. Denver under, how easy was that? I just dont get it.

I had the over 45 in the Vikings/ Rams game. It got to 40 points with 3:11 left to go in the 3rd qtr. And finished at 40. I also had 3 pushes yesterday after not having one all year. Crazy year. :cursin:

the only people winning in the NFL are , THE PUBLIC SQUARES, the ones that pick all favs.and SAY wow THIS IS EASY.in time they will lose it all, myself untill yest. i have been losing, i am a dog player most of the time, usually much better value, when you have the favs. covering at 63% befor yest. the sharp betters are getting killed,in the nfl i would rather be on the bookies side.

The books shouldn't complain too much. They got a miracle backdoor on a massive public play when the Jags scored 15 pts in the last 3+ minutes. That had to save their asses a ton of cash.

Yeah until tonight when they got it all back by betting the Falcons. I'm sure the offshores have big deep pockets and are getting more even action and the people that have money online will end up giving most of it back instead of taking a withdrawal. But the locals I know are getting torched as they get most of their action on NFL. Worst time of the year to be getting torched, because Joe Square picks up his money and goes Christmas shopping never to be bet again. If Houston, SF, Cleveland, NO, and Buffalo proceed to lay down and take it, there will be alot of locals out of business before year end.
