seriously, its sexy to take the ML dog but tomorrow the yankees win. Hell, you could even still think the Phillies win the series. But in game 2, the bombers will actually bomb and they win.

Look at NYY in the post season - - how many times did they score more than 4?? Come on - NYY is flatly outclassed - - - and don't say its "sexy" to take the dog in game 2. The home dog bettors will likely be a VERY small minority - just the the dog bettors in Game 1. Good Luck regardless......

if anyone's bullpen is shaky its the yankee's bullpen. bruney and hughes looked terrible last night. i thought phil hughes was a great pen guy? yeah maybe against the twins and angels. A-Fraud is back to his old form. 3 k's in his world series debut, haha.

You don't think Pedro was f-in with the media? Looked sarcastic to me.

Gotta feeling Pedro is looking to shock the world. Burnett got rocked early last time out. If that happens again, NYY batters will feel the pressure to produce and become impatient. Pedro has been around long enough to take advantage I think.

Nothing worse than fear, they know there is no coming back from 0/2 against this team...Talk about pressure ????? This could be a sweeeeeeeeeeeep ! you have to bet against pressure in this spot....

Here's the thing though...

Here's the thing though...

bc Philly is up 1, its not about Pedro. They got the split. All the pressure is on Burnett to not implode and give up runs early like he did last time out. Granted, the Yanks came back, but still lost because of their horrible middle relief. How is this situation different? No one is saying Pedro will dominate like Lee and infact he may give up 3 runs in 5 innings. But it doesn't matter, Philly does not need to go up 2-0 to win the series. Philly is playing with the Man's money.
This is Burnett's opportunity to show the Yanks fans he is legit and was worth the money. As we saw last night, Sabathia wasn't quite up to the task.
Pedro is the fill-in, not the be all-end all. If he can just pitch with Burnett, Phils middle relief is better than the Yanks. I don't see Burnett going more than 6?
So yes everyone is wanting to put Pedro in the limelight because its a bigger story that way, but its Burnett who holds the Yanks future in his hands, and I got a feeling he chokes. How many World Series has he pitched in?

There is perception and something called reality....This WS / odds, sets up like 1990...

in 1990 Oakland was on the road for the 1st two....1996 Yankees lost first 2 at home to the defending World Champs (Braves)....then won 3 straight in Atlanta and then clinched back in NY in game 6....they beat Glavine, Neagle, Smoltz and Maddux...2 Hall of Famers....anything is possible...

ok

ok

are we comparing Burnett to Lee now? Or Pedro to Burnett?
Plus it was the opening game of the Series, there's more pressure on Burnett than there was on Lee being down a game in the series.
Not for sure but i think its exactly the same number that Cliff Lee had going into this series.
