Funny thing happened to me yesterday....well maybe not that funny. Yesterday I placed a wager at thegreek. I played a $100 daily double at Turfway Park on races 2 and 3. I played the #6 horse in race 2 (it easily won) but Turfway Park cancelled all racing after the second race because of the weather. Since the first leg of the double hit there was a consolation payout of 6 with all, it paid $4. I called thegreek after about 2 hours, but they said the wager was not graded yet. I called after 4 hours and they still said it was not graded. I told them there was a consolation payout and I should have $200 credited to my account. They told me the wager was not graded yet, but it would be put in my account as soon as it was. I woke up this morning and they graded the wager as a push/cancel. I called back and after being on hold for 20mins I spoke with a manager. He told me there is no way to pay the wager since there were no results for the third race. I told him the track rewards you for winning the first leg of the double by giving you a consolation payout since the third race was never run. I called Turfway Park (very nice people) They faxed all the information to me showing the consolation payout. I faxed it to thegreek and their reply is "We will see what we can do" I am really surprised that a decent book like thegreek is treating me so poorly. Sorry for the long whine/rant.

I play at Bet Jam sometimes for horses and they are a sister book of the Greek. I read the rules and I didn't see anything addressing it. Since they don't contribute to the mutual they may be right. I hope it works out for you.

Be aware the thegreek.com DOES NOT pay out on track odds. I hit around a $70-80 horse about 4 months ago and they only payed out up to $40 a win. I think the exotic payouts they pay up to 100/1.

In the 80's I played some books that did not pay track odds/payoffs. They usually capped the wins both staight-up and in exotics.

As soon as people started co-mingling and paying out same as the track...no sense in playing the other type of books unless absolutely desperate to make a bet.
