One of the funniest yet pathetic threads that I have read in a long, long time.

I always kind of liked Hedge' from over in the football forum,but the following statement just blew my mind.

Sure you can, but if you just take care of the basics the rest will fall in line with time. When raising our 3 boys, we got them to chuch every sunday, read to them most every night and were very involved with their education and teaching them right from wrong. We never once spoke politics with them until they were in their teens, and then it was with respect for their opinions and their ability to come to their own conclusions.

In three months I will be the father of three college grads that are both hard working and very well grounded. I could not be prouder of all three and at no time did I feel the need to persuade them that they should follow my own political beliefs. And BTW, two voted for McCain and one for Obama.

What bothers me about this board in general is the very overstated hate that prevails here. I would like to think that I can disagree with you on some issues without hating you and visa versa. I would also like to think that I can disagree with Obama without wishing him to fail and our nation to suffer. To me, wishing for Obama to fail is not much different than wishing that America fails.

This entire section of the forum is a real cluster fuck filled with a ton of unfounded garbage. I think I'll stick with the sports.

Its not like I run around the house screaming these things, my 4 year old knows Daddy and Mommy go to work everyday and we work hard for what we have. I believe you show your kids how to act and work hard because they have to be productive citizens when they are adults. I am sure the school system will indoctrinate them to the liberal way, but at home they always will get the Conservative way of doing things.
