I want to vomit, because in hindsite, I would never bet 100 on the White Sux, much less 1100

Ticket # Accepted Type Risk To Win
13280588-1 5/26/2003 1:04 PM Parlay 20.00 1,100.00
Baseball - 901 Cincinnati Reds +170 for Game
Baseball - 903 Pittsburgh Pirates +210 for Game
Baseball - 903 Pittsburgh Pirates/Chicago Cubs over 7 -105 for Game
Baseball - 915 Cleveland Indians/Detroit Tigers over 9 +100 for Game
Baseball - 916 Detroit Tigers -103 for Game
Baseball - 917 Chicago White Sox +110 for Game

Line moving away from the Sox all day. Making me nervous. I should have thought about it, b/c I liked the Giants game over but for some reason thought those losers (white sux) would show up. Figured it was a just for fun play wihtout a chance in hell. But now that I think about it, think I will go put a nickel on the Blue Jays. Also, I think I am getting hosed big time on the payout b/c I used a parlay calucator and it said the payout was

2685. Am I wrong? I know I know, I am wrong to put money on the Sox.

Happy Memorial Day.

Destiny sez I should win this one if the Gambling gods are on my side. Miraculous comeback for the Pirates over. Reds blow it, wiggle out of trouble big slam and then nearly give it away to pull it out anyway. Tigers game came through late as well.

Gotta tell you about a bad beat

Gotta tell you about a bad beat

I think it was back in 1999 and I was a game away from hitting a 12 team parlay in NFL. I layed 50 on it to win like 35 grand or something. The last game I needed to hit was an afternoon game between the Vikings and Broncos. I had the Vikes +3 but when I went to submit it the line moved down to 2.5 and I couldn't buy the half point and this book had no free half point on parlay cards . The game was looking good until the Vikes scored a 2 pt conversion. To make a long story short, the Broncos won by 3. I did hedge the bet and still ran off with about 7500 but I would have much rather had the 35K. I had like 4 or 5 miraculous covers and totally off the wall picks mixed in. In every parlay I have ever hit, it has never been those "sure" fire chalk parlays that seem safe. They always seem to safely suck the bankroll down as do parlays. But I will throw small ones out with regularity. I was inches away from laying the big wad on the Braves and Cubs today too. But the more I thought about it, if there is one guy I would never lay big chalk on it would be Hampton. Especially after seeing what happened to him last week. I took a chance with the Pirates, because Wood had been scuffling as of late and they were scoring some runs now that Giles was back. Couldn't justify playing the Indians as road chalk and the ump favored the over. WHat the hell was I thinking taking the Sox????

Ahhhhh the pleasure of gambling. At worst, made a couple bucks and had a much more entertaining Memorial day than going to spend that much on a schitty movie and overpriced food on the boardwalk.

Thank God

Thank God

I hedged that thing, cuz that was an absolute abortion. I didn't realize their defense was that bad. I thought Buehrle threw a nice game and he was definitely getting hosed by Cousins behind homeplate while the Tor pitchers were not getting squeezed at all. Not a sour grapes assessment cuz I did hit the hedge on them anyway. Hope everyone cashed today.

Alot of books cap their payouts on parlays. So, you were getting hosed, you'll just know it next time.

BTW, the sixth would have been a nightmare for you if you didn't hedge.

Congrats!!

Excellent point. I don't get to see the Sox very often but tonite seemed to be a classic example of why they are calling for Manuel but I havent' seen enough of his games to say he is a bad manager. Frank Thomas needs to retire. Can't believe he is making 5 mill much less 50K. I know he hurt himself pretty bad a few years ago, but when scouts said he lost his bat speed, it was pretty apparent tonite. What on earth is wrong with Konerko? He has been so solid for them, but right now couldn't hit Anna Nicole Smith's ass if it was tumbling at him in slow motion. That bullpen of theirs is an abortion. Is it me or is Dave Justice really really gay and a terrible commentator? Do you think Rick White will be getting a pink slip tonite?

Toronto is an exciting young team that will have to outslug everyone, b/c I don't think their Pen is much better. How do guys like Tanyon Sturtze keep a job? I can't believe the Rangers got rid of Catalanotto. I always thought the dude could really hit, but then again Tex needs pitching.

I know every team goes through stretches of slumps, but the Yankees look listless and to me are in big trouble. But then again, big trouble for them is probably only winning 90 games.
