yesterday for WKU backers. Up 49-14 with about 12 minutes left and lost. Not only do you lose, but CMU scores a 75 yard TD with 1 second left. If anyone can top this bad-beat, I would like to hear it... Do recall the Bears 2 TD's in 30 seconds against Browns and also recall Manning's 3 TD's in final 3 minutes vs Bucs on a MNF game around 2004.

Merry Christmas!

saints against jacksonsville. its on you tube. last play saints with ball on their own 15 4th 10 couple seconds to go. Pass complete numerous missed tackles and laterals. Saints score down 1. Jacksonville favored by 2.5. Okay Jacksonville can still cover if saints make extra point game goes to ot. The kicker for saints had record for most consecutive made extra points. Swear he missed it on purpose not even close.

I will not debate the historic nature of the beat. :popcorn2

That is why my mantra is- Golf, girls, and gambling are the 3 great mind fux in life.

You NEVER master any of them. It is simply survival. But, damn, it's fun

By the way, keep bringing your capping guys. It's why we get up in the AM. :toast:

Merry Christmas to all of you.

OK, that was a bad one and I lost a minimum level "action" play on the 2h under becauseof it. Ironically,i had 37 and was watching w the sound off, and i was worried the ball was downed at the goal line and a safety would result in a push. i remember relaxing for a second against my better instincts when i saw the ball was on the 25. anyway, a comparable beat: marino launches a last play pass toward one sideline from around his own 30 against the raiders. it was only about 15 yds downfield , not a hail mary.one of thebig hitters in the raider d backfield, i think it was jack tatum, kills the intended wr, the ball rockets off his helmet 20 to 25 yards across field to one of the marks brothers in stride w no one in the same timezone as him and he completes the 70 yard td game ender.

Still find anything said to compare to 35 point lead in 4th and then lose this way. Agree end of games are comparable, but culmination of everything is something I have never seen

Nothing really compares and it's not even close

There are tons of miracle "endings" that can rival that final play -td but the only game that comes in a distant 2nd (clear win for entire game) was Dallas at lakers in 2001ish? Dallas had lost tons in a row at lakers and had 25 point (? ) lead entering 4th quarter and lost outright (think it was biggest 4th q comeback in history of nba).....but that's nba basketball where huge leads disappear all the time

That shit yesterday was beyond ridiculous

I agree. With most other bad beats, one didn't continuously think they were going to win easily clear down to the last second and held out hope even after the last second.......I had just lost an "in game" a couple days earlier on MANNINGS td interception so it was very hard on me considering i had both WESTERN KY and the 2nd HALF UNDER.

As someone who considers them self to be a connoisuir of bad beats, this one too the cake

35 points in 15 minutes

3 tds in 3 minutes

Even the final play was absurd. Hail Marys land at a 1-100 clip and Cmu landed a Hail Mary yet it only got them to the opposing 30!! They still had to do the 1-200 odd lateral play

All of this for the final td of a 35 point comeback is crazy

I can't and will never match this

On the course!
By definition, a "bad beat" is one play. It isn't a team collapsing in a quarter.

Thus, Robin Ventura's "grand slam single" will always be the biggest boondoggle I can dig up.

3-3 game in the 15th inning, and he hits a grand slam, covering the over of 7' runs. Except he gets mobbed before he can round the bases, and is credited with only a single! 4-3, UNDER WINS!

That's not a what if, would, coulda, shoulda......That was outright stealing!

Brewers at the Cubbies late '90's early 2000's.....LARGE PLAY on the Over 12', wind blowing out hard to center.....Softball games breaks out 12-9 in the 3rd inning...then the rains came, game called after a short period of time in an afternoon tilt....bet cxl'ed....

3 years a ago Cub/Cards over 9' emptied my bankroll play.....Cards up 7-2 after 1 inning, Jack comes on and congrats me thinking game is at least a push.....Both pens numb up, no runs the rest of the game.....

Football Bill/Oilers.....that one still hurts......

We all have bad beats, and there's more to come.....:0008

same game CMU vs WKU

same game CMU vs WKU

At half put $400 on CMU -28 for the second half. it was +4000.

Why did they go for it on the extra point, when they scored the TD with 1 second had a chance at $16000. Then they threw the fade?????? Sure liked my chances if they went to OT

Rumor has it they could not rescheudle the flights out that night and if it went to overtime they all would have had to stay on the island another night
