both teams are pretty even in most categories.

miss. st has lost one rebounding matchup this year but they won the game by 30. miami struggled against morgan st (no line on it), lost the rebounding battle and only won by 4. power ratings separated by 1.1 pts... UM 77.6 MSU 78.7. miss. state has played a tougher schedule thus far as far as power ratings but UM is 14th in RPI in two polls. Miami has the edge 3-point shooting on the year 44.7% to 33.5%.
the difference that will make the difference:
DEFENSE. against their toughest opponents (p/r 70+) Miami has not allowed a team to shoot above 37% from the field (marist did shoot 40% against them) but MSU allowed Miami-OH inside and they shot 46% and outside they shot 42% against the bulldogs. the Salukis were also able to shoot a higher percentage (44%) from the field against them. in their home loss earlier to clemson, they won the rebounding battle, BUT ALLOWED CLEMSON TO SHOOT 38% FROM 3. they outshot them overall but the 3-ball and the free throws killed MSU in the home loss.
if miami doesn't win this game, they at least get their ATS record to 6-0.
