YTD 42-46 [-9.89]
A couple of games I like for this afternoon:
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (+108) Playing the Blue Jays - there's a shocker.
Seriously, though, I thought the Jays were the better team on the field last night, just a couple of long balls got Bush, and some timely pitching by Lohse helped the Twins out. Chacin needs a win in May, and given his road record (3-0, 2.20 ERA), I think he is in a good spot here. Also, the Jays have had some success against Mays in the past (he is 2-4, 4.78 ERA in 11 appearances versus Toronto) and has struggled lately, giving up 12 ER in his last 17 2-3 IP.
GIANTS/ROCKIES over 12.5 (-114) Granted, totals continue to give me problems, but there are some glaring statistics here that I am basing this play on, hoping they continue:
- Brett Tomko is 0-3, 9.45 ERA in his career at Coors Field. Also, he is 1-4 with ERA over 5 on the road this year
- Jeff Francis 0-1, 15.12 ERA in 2 career starts versus San Fran. He has also given up 23 walks this year in (40 innings) while striking out 24.
Simply, I am looking for a lot of activity on the basepaths and hope these two offenses can take advantage of this.
Good Luck Guys,
