Above the Clouds....
Only a fool believes their vote means a pinch of shit.

Voting is just one more illusion your government gives you to make you think you have some "say" in what goes on.

You have a very valid point. I have voted many times hoping a change would make a difference and so far I think I have been wrong.

I agree. Its part of the problem.

It will never change though...not till the GOP is a dead party.

Quite interesting "opinion"--maybe you like to look up the facts and find that Washingtion DC lead the nation in democrat votes with bout 90% ratio and also lead the nations in homicides--

If you want to to know facts on homicides you might want to spend about 10 minutes here--

No, but they would be willing to repeal or at the very least ammend the 2nd amendment. It may not be the full solution, but it would be progress in the right direction.

doubtful. There's always going to be guns, legal or illegal. The ones committing crime don't really care either way.

Bingo! Law abiding citizens will surrender their arms, while gangsters, drug-dealers and other scum will continue to act like animals.

BTW, I do not have time this minute, but I will locate and paste an article I read months ago about violent crime.

UK, led by Scotland, is 3:1 over USA. USA was comparable to Poland and Italy if I recall correctly. Japan was very low on the list.

I blame everything thats happening in this country on Mr. Bush!! Until he is out of office nothing is going to
change in this country.

He's to worried about his investments overseas. There is going to have to be at least two good presidents after him to fix this country.

I have two children and I'm seriously scared for them if things don't start changing in the US.

I did 7 months in Iraq in the Marines for Mr. Bush and I tell ya I would cut off my right arm before I did another thing for this so called President.

Violent crime rates around the world
A UNITED Nations report has labelled Scotland the most violent country in the developed world, with people three times more likely to be assaulted than in America.
England and Wales recorded the second highest number of violent assaults while Northern Ireland recorded the fewest.

The study, based on telephone interviews with victims of crime in 21 countries, found that more than 2,000 Scots were attacked every week, almost ten times the official police figures. They include non-sexual crimes of violence and serious assaults.

Violent crime has doubled in Scotland over the past 20 years and levels . . . .

The study, by the UN?s crime research institute, found that 3 per cent of Scots had been victims of assault compared with 1.2 per cent in America and just 0.1 per cent in Japan, 0.2 per cent in Italy and 0.8 per cent in Austria. In England and Wales the figure was 2.8 per cent. . . . .

How about we then have a law that if you are caught using a gun you get sentence to life in prison? I think that would stop the criminals and we could all be safe. Not gonna stop them all but im sure it would stop a super high percentage of them. Ah what is the use time and time again you people fall for the rhetoric of the right with these bullshit gun fears. There is no need i repeat no need for assault weapons to be on the street. At least get these freaking things off the streets. Your hero allowed a law to fade into the sunset that stop this crap.

Im not sure you are telling the truth but if you are i hope a lot of the military like yourself is coming to their senses about this guy. He is no friend of the military like some lead you to believe.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. violent crime rate declined 2.2 percent last year, continuing a decade-long downward trend in serious offenses, the FBI said Monday.

All major categories of violent crime in the United States declined in 2004, bringing the rates of the most serious offenses, including murders, rapes, robberies and assaults, to a level 32 percent lower than those reported in 1995, the new figures show.

The rate of property crimes -- such as burglary, larceny and auto theft -- declined 2.1 percent as well last year.

The only category of violent crime in which the number of incidents rose was forcible rapes -- to 94,635 in 2004 from 93,883 in 2003, an increase of 0.8 percent. But accounting for an increase in population, the rate of forcible rapes dropped 0.2 percent.

The 523-page FBI Uniform Crime Report is the final compilation and statistical analysis of crime data reported by nearly all state and local law enforcement agencies for 2004.

The annual report offers no reasons for the trends, but the exhaustive statistical data provides criminologists and academics with raw material to examine.

Experts have attributed declines in recent years to a variety of factors, including an aging population and harsher punishments such as mandatory sentences.

In 2004, the number of violent crimes dropped 1.2 percent to 1,367,009 from 1,383,676 in 2003.

One murder occurred in the United States every 32.6 minutes, and the murder rate dropped 3.3 percent to 5.5 per 100,000 people (16,137 offenses). The number of murder cases was down by nearly 400 from the previous year.

The report said the number of murder victims and the total of suspects were both nearly equally divided by race. Most suspects were adult men using firearms, and about one in five murder victims was female.

Last year there were 401,326 robberies, down about 13,000 from 2003, and the robbery rate dropped 4.1 percent to 136.7 per 100,000 people.

Arrests were made in 62 percent of murder cases, 55 percent of aggravated assault cases, 42 percent of rape cases and 26 percent of robbery cases, according to the report.

Aren't you the one who cried on this very forum about having several guns stolen from you by a "kid" that you loved? Let's hope that your irresponsible handling of these guns doesn't lead to any more violent crimes...........

A They were not my guns. B. They were collectors items not even sure they could shoot because i saw one and it looked like a clowns gun. C. I wasn't "in charge" of handling these guns. D. Lets hope your hero's ball sucking of the NRA doesn't create a mass murder now that assault weapons can be used in crimes.

I think that if he had the chance to run again you would vote for him no matter who was running on the other side. Some call it partisonship. I call it insanity.
