all political forums are the same way, is how i justify it, but, my god, this is a gambling forum and some here are making enemies when they used to be friends.
can't you people be civil or at least quit on the personal attacks? sheese!

It has always been this way Jack. I remember when you first opened it up because we were causing too much trouble in the General Forum. Many people here are very passionate. There are some idiots. I may be considered one by some. But to be honest two guys I argue with a lot on here I consider to be friends. A lot of renewed interest because of the election. I think it is a good thing.

I think with the exception of a few, the personal attacks are pretty low.
Some slip ups here and there, but overall this seems pretty tame.
I'm looking forwar to meeting many of the guys from this forum at the golf outing, so the ones who hate my ideology can have a different perspective.

Having spent a lot of time trying to build a sports wagering forum previously, I can completely understand why Jack doesn't allow for PMs. People will use that option for advertising, recruiting posters, etc., most of which could care less about Jack or anyone here.
This is Jack's business, and he has an established forum with a good reputation. To jeopardize that by opening up members to anyone for any reason would compromise what he has built and maintains.
Let alone the personal freakishness and spamming that would surely ensue.
People are people - and most are worse when they can hide behind a monitor. These forums are worse than society at large, if that is possible. I do agree that of late there are a lot more completely ignorant, baseless, of-little-value posts than there have been for a while. I think this comes and goes, maybe.

if i start to censor some of the hateful posts or personal attacks, i will get accused of taking sides. if i shut the forum down, i'll catch all kinds of shit from everybody.
it is a nice place to discuss politics but some here are getting carried away.

when the racial shit starts, i WILL censor that shit and ban people responsible. there are some getting real close.

I have a hunch it's about to really heat up till Nov. Everyone just has to count to ten before they fire back. That can help hold back some of the real nasty stuff. What did Jack say. Can't we all just get along.
