First of all, did the officer change gloves prior to second search? Let's hope so.

Also, I do not know the laws on searches in this regard. I wonder if any civil liberties were violated?

I don't think that "I thought I smelled marijuana" will hold up in court much longer. Especially if the officer comes up empty handed.
