Someone has put together a website dedicated to the USFL. I can't help but think what could have been with this league. It grew too quick and large that the NFL would have none of it. If you look at the names of some of the coaches and players it is hard to say that this league would not have and could not have competed with the NFL. I remember going to these games as a kid and having a blast. Our team(Showboats) was just about to get good when the league collapsed. Funny to see how our partner Mr Logan Young, has faired since the debacle of the league turning his attention to paying college players and high school coaches for the university of alabama.

THIS IS USFL

I was a big fan of the Michigan panthers and Bobby Hebert, loved the whole league it was better than the NFL at the time, much more progressive. Too bad Direct Tv wasnt around at the time as the league could of flourished. Still think that the league had the best Uniforms and helmet schemes, love the Boston Breakers and Orlando Renegades helmets, didnt Carolina steal the Panthers helmet design?

MC, dont foget that WR corps you had up there. I think Anthony Carter was one of them.

Phin, i still have mine along with a team picture of them posing on a showboat. My fav name was our cornerback Barney Bussey. Walter Lewis to Derrick Crawford was a deadly combo

...actually Ocelot it's not the same team......it was actually the Memphis Southmen (the World Football League)....Csonka, Kiick, and Warfield actually left the Dolphins in 1974 over a contract dispute and joined with the Southmen.....

Actually, I SAW Birmingham play the Southmen at Birmingham way back then and I remember it as being a good game. I THOUGHT it was the Southmen and I think B'ham were the Americans? Not sure.

It was the Birmingham stallions.............I remember watching Marcus Dupree(Oklahoma) play for someone in the USFL. Did'nt the Phillaldelphia team have Chuck Fusina as their QB and Jim Mora as their coach?
