Yes theses hockey guys are insane...........can't remember who it was but I remember he played the 2nd half of the game with a broken rib and internal bleading in his spleen......and who can forget Yzerman last year...the guy couldn't even walk....and he played.....or Mario not being able to tie his own skates due to extreme back pain.....or what about Bill Barilko scoring Stanley cup winning goal on a broken leg

and then there's baseball players..........what a joke

can all be summed up with a quote from Federov...he made this quote at a Tigers game........he'd only been in North America for a month:

"They get paid for this"?
"They shower after this"?

:D

Hockey is by far the toughest and baseball is by far the worst. That's why I can't watch baseball.

I'm replying to defend soccer, though. You will mainly see the acting in South American football. That is the main reason that I despise Brazilian soccer. If it weren't for their female fans, I would never tune into a game. The German Bundes League is probably the best to watch if you don't like the falling down. Those guys are pretty tough.

Also, if you have never played soccer, you have to remember that almost your entire body is exposed to be hacked at. When you really do get chopped in the calf or the achilles or anywhere else with cleats, there usually is extreme pain, but it doesn't last for a long time. You have to walk it off. This is where the rolling on the ground comes from. I hate it that the sport gets knocked for this because, to me, it is a form of cheating. I wish they would start changing the rules to keep people from doing this so much. They have started giving cards more often for "diving" in the box.

Anyway, I was watching the Toronto game last night and am amazed at how tough those guys are. Was it Tucker who was mouthing in the first period for getting jacked up against the wall right before his shift was over? I heard him screaming down to the other bench, "Is that how were playing? That's good. Game on, bitch! Game on! I'm going to **** you up!" I was cracking up. The camera stayed on him for up to 2-3 minutes trash talking. They hadn't started the new shift yet, so there was nothing to show on the ice. It was extremely funny.

I went to the fight one night and sure enough a hockey game did start. If I had kids under 12 I would not take them to a hockey fight. See nothing they can learn about sports there. Why teach kids its ok to play dirty and fighting is ok. I do agree it's a tough game. But maybe it needs a new name.

DJV, Fighting happens in 1'% of all games ,and less than that in the playoffs, hockey is the greatest and toughest sport period. I've played hockey, baseball, football, raquetball, golf, basketball, all competetively and nothing comes close to Hockey::

In involves every aspect of sport, finesse, speed, power, contact, right left combos with a uppercut:D etc etc, NHL Playoffs are by far and away the KING of SPORTS spectating::

I coach my nephew and he lives for hockey season over any other sport he plays, and in a couple years you can bet I will have my daughter playing Too, she already beats up the Boys at Daycare:lol:

that quote says it all...........pathetic

and DJV...........fighting in hockey is rare.......but it's part of the game.....but anyone will tell ya.......hardly anybody gets hurt in a fight.........in fact this year........9 players broke their feet/leg from blocking shots.........not to mention the numerous times they get sticks and elbows in their face....hockey players are unreal......if only everybody knew how rough just one shift can be.......these baseball players make me sick.........I mean does it get any more pathetic then looking in a bullpen.......guys sitting there...chewing gum, seeds, tobacco.......come in for an inning and leave....get paid millions.........what a frigging joke.......

then the baseball players come back with........"do ya know how hard it is to hit a fastball"?? Oh boy.....oh boy

That's why that Cal Ripken record cracks me up.........I mean wow....good job.........what about Doug Jarvis and his NHL record....the guy played over 800 straight NHL games......I mean that's an accomplishment that boggles the mind.......

kickserv-if baseball is so ****ing easy, I know several MLB scouts, I'm sure I could get you a tryout, I hear it pays pretty well.

Hitting or throwing a ball 95mph isn't to easy, despite your ridiculous claims. Ironically ESPN just claimed in a poll hitting a MLB pitcher MOST DIFFICULT thing to do in any sport.

Waiting for some assanine comment next like golf is real easy, just walk around in nice clothes and swing once in a while. Anybody can do what tiger Woods does its easy.

Professional wrestling is the toughest sport. Besides being toughest it is the only honest sport out there. It is the only sport you can't bet on because these guys are so dedicated to the sport that not even Vegas can control them.
