That commercial sums up Bush's entire presidency in 30 seconds. It is by far the most effective commercial this campaign.

Brutal

It's definitely one of the most effective ones out there. Use the President's own words given the context and you have a commercial in which it seems Bush is being light hearted in an ill-timed way.

I'm a patriotic kind of guy. But it makes me a skeptic that when one of the main reasons we went to Iraq was to find and contain Saddam's WMD's and all Bush can say is that we may have had faulty intelligence because there weren't any. Sure, there was history of his using chemical weapons and he may have had intent of producing more in the future, but least be a man and own up to a "mistake" you'd made. The commander-in-chief calls the shots and is ultimately responsible in times of war.

Yea I bought the book. So far it is too depressing to get through. I read a few pages and put it down. He doesn't come off to good. Nowonder he did not want the commission to begin with.

its like that old saying, 'if your friends jumps off a bridge, are you going to do the same?' While mostly everybody thought there was WMD's, at the same time most of those orginizations told him not to go to war. Powell even stated that going to war was not a good idea. The fact is Bush is our leader and he is the one that made the mistake. You can't blame other people for what you choose to do. he started the ill-advised and ill-prepared war in Iraq in which some Americans have to come close to mutiny to protect them from orders . He misled the American people about the weapons in Iraq and the involvement of Iraq in the World Trade Center attack. he is disgusted, he tells us, by the kidnappings and the beheadings, the car bombs and roadside bombs, the ambushes and murder of civilians, but the bad decisions he and his cabinet made were mandated by God and could not have been mistakes. Pat Robertson tells us, however, that Mr. Bush told him that God had disclosed that the casualties in Iraq would be light. Maybe that was God's mistake. The world is a mess because the United States is the natural leader of the free world and the American president the natural president of the free world. He blew the capital of support and sympathy that flowed to the United States after the World Trade Center attack by his "Bush Doctrine" that turned him into the bully of the free world. Next year the Poles will leave Iraq because the Polish people don't like the war. The Poles -- our strongest allies " -- are fed up with us! Four more years of divine inspiration

BTW Clem after reading the title of your thread topic can I ask you a question??

Do you indeed think Saddam had WMDs in the final year leading up to the war?

Listen Bush is not a bright man and if you cannot see that by his shortcomings for the past four years then you must live in a fantasy world like Ctownguy. I doubt if even the most proud Republican could name 10 good things that Bush has done in his four years in office, now these things cannot count any act that is misleading such as the Medicare Reform Act which is one of the worst acts of the past 25 years as it is ripe with kickbacks to the drug makers and in 2006 when the Senior's go on this plan they and see what the true coverages are they are going to be up in arms just as AARP is now saying that they regret endorsing this plan as they were misled.

I'll name one off the top of my head.....Bush liberated Afghanistan. They had votes a few few weeks ago and the first person to vote was a WOMAN!!! IMAGINE THAT!!....
What about protecting the homeland since 9/11???
What about reviving a failing inherritted economy?
What about capturing Saddam Hussein?
What about liberating 50,000,000 people?
What about causing Libya to hand over thier WMDs?

My god Master I could go on and on but I guess you will just stick your head in the sand.

Kerry's track record in the Senate is 10 times worse, I hate to break it to you. Want to go into particulars? Should we break down Kerry's last 20 years Master?

MR. MANSON......

First of all, I am a MODERATE. BTW, I voted for Bush in 2000 and for the Republican governor of my state.

I know that there are many (libs and conservatives alike) who supported Pres. Bush and had believed there to be WMD's. I'm not that naive, as you imply.

I post my view in this thread and you attack me personally. But you, sir, choose to lump me with "liberals" and call me "a joke" and "a total idiot". Well, I've read several of your posts and some things are consistent. Name calling and spewing of venom, for starters. You are entitled to your opinions as are all of us in Jack's board. But you go a step further and you seek to crush those who do not agree with your views. I assume you are an intelligent human being, but you undermine yourself by choosing to act the way you do.

You just proved my point. In fact, you are even MORE simplistic and shallow than I'd originally thought. :sadwave:

I think you should take the same "advice" you gave me. Boy, I'd hate to be your neighbor. Have a nice life.

It's only an internet chatboard Gecko, I hate to break it to you. If you think I'm shallow and simplistic do you think I actually give a shit??? We are all anonomous in here so you have no clue who I am and I seriously don't give a flying fcuk who you are either.

You're just mad because I taught you a lesson when it came to debating politics. You know I was right so you had to switch gears and try and attack me personally. Again, don't take stuff so personal, this is only the internet.

Chuckie --

You're absolutely right, you pompous asshole. I certainly don't give a shit about you. But you sure taught me a lesson, not about politics, but about THE POLITICS IN WHICH YOU BELIEVE!

Answer me this:

1. Have WMD's been found?
2. Has the Bush administration misunderestimated the Iraqi insurgency and thus, as a result mismanaged this war?

You look into that deep dark heart of yours and be honest. YES or NO to both questions.

You may not know it if it hit you in the head, but YOU launched a personal attack against ME first. You called me an "idiot" and a "joke". Oh, I guess you must have forgotten that.

BTW you also have a disturbing tendency to attack everyone who may disagree with you on a personal level. You are far from an asset to this "internet chatboard". You are absolutely obsessed with spreading your views (with reckless disregard and blinders on) to the point where you are now THE BIGGEST LAUGHING STOCK HERE AT MADJACKS.

Have a nice day. :)

Well Manson you got up to 6 cant name four more can you? But lets scratch number 1 as Afghan has not been liberated it still is being run by warlords and terrorist have relocated to the western area ofthe country. While women voting is a good start it is far from liberating a country.

Your number 2, well has not al lUS Presidents protested the homeland in the past? If you have to reach I will give you that one.

Your third point on reviving the economy is funny, yeah creatiing all the new jobs is one of his greatest achievments.

Saddam? I would be impressed if it was Bin Laden but not really of Saddam so we can scratch that one too.

What 50 million did he liberate? Are you talking about Iraq? Yeah that country sure seems liberated. Not counting that one!

I give you Libya

So in reality you need to add 8 more since were back to 2!
