Just watched the first overhead video from the Joplin tornado - absolute devastation, I'm speechless. I grew up close to that area and know the drill all too well. Have friends in Joplin, still don't know if they are alright.

Just sickening to look at the pictures and videos. God be with everyone dealing with loss down there. Last I heard 89 dead and counting. So many people have lost so much - similar to the storms that went through the SW a while back.

For anyone here dealing with this, my prayers and support are with you.

ya I am from AL and unbelievable everything that happened there and just watched an insane video of the Joplin tornado and some of the immediate aftermath... they said 75% of the city is damaged :scared

Should have prayed before the Tornado........But we all....the Faithful and the Faithless know it would have been a waste of time.

I was in Lenexa, KS over the weekend for a hoops tournament. It's less than 2 hours straight north of Joplin. We came home yesterday but on Saturday night we had major storms- tornado sirens, golf ball sized hail, etc. They said a twister went on I-35 between mile markers 200-220 and we were at 224. I definitely feel fortunate and will keep everyone affected in our thoughts.
