Playing over 183 Bos/N.J.,under 188 LA/SA,and Sa-1-.I know many will look for the three time defending champions to quickly rebound from their game 1 defeat on Monday and tear up SA like a cheap suit. Its happened before and could happen this time, but I don't think so.I say this is quite likely the spot (or at least the Series) where the oddsmakers have the hook baited and are ready to reel in some of the money they've lost to all the LA following the last three years. The injuries are mounting for the Lakers, and SA is poised and talented enough to make a run at taking the crown. They are deeper, playing better and know 2-0 is a lot better than going to LA tied at one. This knowledge wouldn't mean anything without the talent to execute behind it,but SA has that too.Yes SA's playoff history vs the Shaq led Lakers is poor, but everyone was looking for Shaq to tear up SA on Monday due to the MVP going to Duncan and it didn't happen. That game dispelled some myths and gave SA a lot of confidence. As often is the case, the final score of Game 1 didn't accurately indicate how well SA played in that game.I don't have any emotional interest in this outcome, but it appears to me that this is where the Lakers current championship run and Phil Jacksons incredible playoff series victory string might end.GL either way

So. Cal
I hate Shaq and the Lakers as much as anybody but saying Shaq didn't play well in game 1 is totally ridiculous.

24 pts (on only 4 or 5 FT attempts)
21 boards

if that's playing poor I'd hate to see him play average.

When I said that they were looking for him to tear up Duncan, that was of course meant to INCLUDE covering and winning his side money, not going for 24 and 21,and losing the dough,as impressive as you think that might have been.By no means am I blaming O' Neal,he's the greatest I've ever seen,I'm just stating that the Lakers didn't cover the 1st QTR,1st HALF or GAME bets IN SPITE of him being really motivated by the MVP thing. By the way,I find the certainty of your criticism ridiculous, because your analysis of my post was profoundly incorrect.I was trying to save the suckers of the sports betting world from "throwing it down" on their beloved Lakers just because they are coming off a loss. Really hope you weren't one of them,I guess. My post will prove dead on by the end of this series in spite of having the Greatest Center Ever on their side.

.....and they threw it down again on the beloved ,wounded Lakers one last time in game 6.Sa,the best regular season team will win the Nba Championship this year. Its almost always a game of form, the team with the 1st or 2nd best regular season record almost always wins it.Shaq'll be back, this is just an interruption.Go Sac.
