on the passing of Ronald Reagan.

1. Chirac from France and Martin from Canada didn't have the respect to attend the memorial service. France doesn't surprise me because that whole country is nothing but a bunch of pussys and cowards, all filled with corruption. When will the food for Oil scandal ever get reported. I guess Canada also has a pussy for a leader.

At least Mulroony sp attended and gave a great eulogy along with the other great world leader Margaret Thatcher, even Gorbochov attended.

2. The great and overwhelming turnout by the American people only goes to show that most of America knew what a great President and leader this man was, and a great man.

3. Hillary and Billy blow job was caught by cameras sleeping, what a couple of classless jerks. Everything said this week about the greatness of Reagan and his character is the exact oppposite of these 2 aholes.

4. Many of the reasons given by leaders about Reagan's push for freedom throughout the world sounds alot like what Pres Bush is trying to do today. Thank God for GW and his convictions to beat the terroists and bring freedom to that part of the world.

GOD HELP US ALL IF THE LEFT GET IN POWER AGAIN

i think a great leader does things without worrying about public opinion polls. i think that bush does what he thinks is right, and isn't concerned with people crying.

Respectfully will disagree with you. The great turnout doesnt mean we all think he was the best president ever. I'm a Republican who thinks that no, he wasnt the greatest leader of the 20th century, he had as many scandals and faults as Clinton did. I think it shows Americans can respect and honor the office of the Presidency no matter how many faults he had as a man and a leader.

Reagans push for freedom throughout the world? How much fighting against terrorism would GW have to do if Reagan hadnt armed Saddam Hussein? Oh wait and at the same time secretly sold arms to Iran. And spent those BILLIONS of dollars from the sale of arms to Iran arming Central American militias all in the name of anti-Soviet rhetoric. Oh wait, and hadnt armed the Taliban and Osama bin Laden?

And yes he was such a great man to the people of this country, he refused to recognize AIDS existed until 1987 and 30,000 Americans had already died and virtually abandoned the black community in this country. Great man indeed!

Anyway I think Reagan was a good President, served this country honorably and deserves the respect he is getting. Didnt mean to get all tweaked out, but when the Reagan zealots come out in force, even this Republican gets a little chaffed.

I respectfully disagree with you calling yourself a Republican, you are nothing more than a wolf in sheeps clothing. In your own words you have shown your true colors, republican my ass.

i was very much impressed with margaret thatcher's handling of the funeral.

here is somebody who had 2 or 3 strokes, taped a beautiful eulogy, traveled to wash. for the service there & then crossed the country to attend the service out in california.

she is one tough cookie.

i was also impressed with mulroony's eulogy. i thought it was very well done.

i heard even france's media is criticizing chirac for not having the class to show up at reagan's funeral. the guy just doesn't like the americans. that's fine but he shouldn't act otherwise.

wasn`t chirac

wasn`t chirac

in country for the g-8 summit?.......wtf?.....

i wish people would stop referring to france as our ally....they aren`t....haven`t been for years....

wouldn`t let us fly over their "country" in "86" to get at khaddafi for the bombing of the La Belle discotheque in Berlin that killed two U.S. soldiers and injured 200 people. .....

this sh-t isn`t new....it isn`t because of george bush....

and ace,i think we`re all tired of having the old "u.s. is responsible for backing dictators" saw thrown out time and again...

we do what`s prudent at the time it`s done....the world "body politic" is a strange animal morphing constantly...politics makes strange bedfellows....today`s ally can be tomorrow`s enemy....

you can pull somebody`s as- out of the wringer(france)today, and get stabbed in the back tomorrow....

yes,we backed saddam when we saw khomeini as the greater danger....holding our people hostage....

and the anti-soviet rhetoric?....what do you mean?....where is the "soviet union" now?.....

this isn`t news....it`s the way of the world...

something was working....and still is...we are the strongest economic and military power in the world...

and the soviet union is "nyet"....as a matter of fact, saddam is also nyet"....

CTOWN..........Mulroney was there..........and by the way....where the fu** was Bush when Trudeau died.........oh yeah that's right, he probably didn't even know who he was...........

I mean for fu**s sake, when the US military dropped a bunch of bombs on Canadians (Afgan), Bush didn't even say sorry........until 5 days later. I mean gimmie a fu**ing break Ctown, get your head out of your ass :nono: Did you hear the eulogy Mulroney gave..........HELLO :nono: :thefinger

Typical American snob, a US President dies and the PM during his reign shows up, but yet you want more. And in turn, Trudeau dies and 99% of Americans don't even know who he is. Newsflash.............world doesn't revolve around the USA

Yes, Paul Martin should have been there. He cut short his trip to the G-8 summit to get back to Canada because we are in the middle of an election campaign...and his party is losing ground VERY quickly. A few weeks ago they were up 20% pts in the polls...and now they are actually trailing. Selfish? Yes. He IS a politician afterall.

kickserv,

I hate you for making me side with ctown, but Bush probably wasn't at Trudeau's funeral maybe because a governor from Texas has no place there. He wasn't an active president at the time, an active head of state, like Trudeau's best buddy Fidel Castro who was there.

Every canuck that I know thinks that they are so enlightened due to the fact that they know soooo much about the US, but the ignorant Americans (yes, I call us Americans because it's our hemisphere) don't know anything about Canadiens. We don't know anything about Canada because nothing that Canada can do will ever effect our lives while it's not the same with the US for you.

While you mourn 5 Canadien soldiers deaths from friendly fire for weeks, we're just trying to figure out how it is mathematically possible for a bomb to find the 20 Canadien soldiers that were actually stationed in Afghanistan.

It must be a nice feeling to live in a country that can sit back and criticize from the cheap seats, so sit back, live in the democracy that we've provided, shut the hell up, and we'll take care of our problems internally.

kick,

I do think though that Paul Martin should have been there. Granted, the US pres wasn't at Trudeau's funeral, look at what the US has done for us. Our true ally and long time friend. If we were to be attacked by another country, who do you think would be the 1st country to step up?

Remember, times like this one must think outside the box.

look at the BIG picture

p.s. i just spent the last 5 hours viewing the Reagan funeral. very touching.

Of course the US would be there...............no question about it. The difference is I can apprecaite the qualities of the US and yet be educated as to what Canada represents.

Did it ever occur to you what the US GETS FROM US for that protection............ask anybody in the Timber industry. You have any clue how much water the US receives from Canada............your dam right they would protect us...........

That's the big picture.....

I didn't say invented, I said provided. Brainwashed? maybe you need to think about where you're anti-US thought process came from. It's from the same brainwashing tactics that you accuse Americans of. Hypocrite

Bobby.........provided........whatever.............and why is it that if one is to object they are ANTI-American..........I love the US, I mean if I hated it so much why did I live there?? I just can't stand ignorance.........Why is it that Americans can't get it through their heads that they are not the best at everything  I mean you can learn from other countries ya know

Y a don't have to chant "USA USA USA" every 5 seconds....just listen for a second or so  Great to be patriotic and be proud of your country, just don't get sucked in to all the hype.

How many Americans even knew Trudeau died......or who he was

and by the way............are you saying that you "provided" democracy to Canada..............

Bobbyblue chip make sure you never get the fact in the way:

While you mourn 5 Canadien soldiers deaths from friendly fire for weeks, we're just trying to figure out how it is mathematically possible for a bomb to find the 20 Canadien soldiers that were actually stationed in Afghanistan.

Besides the US no other nation has more soldiers in Afganistan. It is closer to 2000 than 20 and that will be the case probably until the year 2006 if not longer. Where did you get your 20 cdn. soldiers from.......

by the way Martin should have been there but he is fighting for his political life, still should have spent the day there though.

thanks

"How many Americans even knew Trudeau died......or who he was"

Kickserv I am sure the US sent reprenstation to the funeral. Canada is a smaller country, would not expect an American to know about cdn. leaders. for instance I cannot tell you of the politics in the US, except there is this "little LOL" Presidential race this year. Mainly because it is on TV so often.

I would not know most or all of the govenors or leaders in the Senate, congress in the US at any given time. ect.

thanks
