ouch.....hope this doesn't affect you too much.....gambling is highly addictive and this might be a problem for you.....hopefully you can afford it......i sure couldn't.....might be time for a break from all this and to get out and enjoy some of the other things in life for a while......

anyway, i hope you are all right.....hang in there......i am concerned.....gambling is like playing with fire -- it can bring any of us to ruin if we are not careful....

no one wants to hear :nono: right now.....lets support Scott and hopefully he learns and makes wiser decisions in the future.....

As a life-long Raider fan, I had to watch the "Dud" drop passes after passes the past few yrs. Yes, he'll have decent games like tonite, but over the course of the season he will hurt TB more than help them. For every good game he has, he'll have 2 "Duds" for you. Maybe a change of scenery is all he needs, but only time will tell.

All I was trying to point out is that the "Dud" shouldn't be the primary reason anyone backs TB.

I'm glad TB won, though. Georgia Frontieri gets under my skin, ever since the LA Rams days.

One loss should never break a guy,or hurt him or her more than the last win.Thats the problem with unloading on one game,it becomes the most important, or often, the ONLY important game and wipes out who knows how many wins. This tilts the odds further against the player, something none of us need.Very sorry that you lost.Betting the same amount on every game keeps one game from making you feel this way.

Glad to see some of us are supporting Scott instead of bashing him... Last time I checked we are betting against the man, not each other!

Keep your head up high Scott!

Can't believe that after me running my mouth so hard that there would be anyone on Madjacks, and I mean anyone that would be supportive. I am shocked.

I would really enjoy hearing from the I Told you so guys also. Why did I lose this bet ? I thought I had everything covered. GM if you say because I said Lock I am going to hunt yu down.

The big lesson for me is on Monday night home field advantage counts alot. The crowd inspired Tampa Bay because lets face it the Bucs really struggle on offense.

As for the Ram Heads. Woerner is under way too much pressure and takes way too many hits. The trouble must be in the offensive line. Now with Faulk hurt the season looks lost. At 0-3 I would also say that Martz job is on the line.

Ok I am recovering now. This is over now. Although my wife knew I bet this amount she didnt know what game. Maybe she will forget about it.

Lets see.

73 Units - 34 units = 39 Units

Guess its time to be thinking about my next play. I didnt sleep much last night thinking about things. I know that I love sports wagering and I know I am strong willed......

THROW IT DOWN ! DAMRIT !

I'd never criticize a PLAY because they're so close to 50/50 that you can never be TOO wrong.

But, for that same reason, if you want to hold onto a bankroll, I would criticize making MASSIVE plays (in terms of BR) like you did.

One thing I didn't think was a good "cap" was people saying around here, "no way STL goes 0-3". I don't know if you said it, but I think that kind of thinking is where the books make a lot of money.

As for running your mouth about the play, that's really lose-lose. If you win, nobody wants to congratulate the guy who blabbed all day about his big play. If you lose, you are set up for ridicule.

Sorry you lost your bet. Its good that the old lady knows about it. I think if you're up-front with your betting with the wife, you avoid a lot of trouble down the road.

Oh, and never say "LOCK".

Yeh I did say no way the Rams go 0-3. From Super Bowl to 0-3 wow. I thought the Rams would have some heart. They are in serious trouble the rest of the way.

I aint telling her unless she asks.

You think the Lock thing came back to bite me in the ass ?

Tough Break. You showed alot of balls in your pick and your attitude. You also showed alot of balls coming back here and facing the music. We all get on the wrong side of a game, usually more than being on the right side.
It looks like you already learned the most valuable lesson, never bet against a home dawg on Monday night, at least when the team is hungry, has heart and great fans. The atmosphere in that stadium is always going to act as an equalizer. Good luck and God Bless.

Scott, you are certainly confused!

The fans are pumped up, and Raymond James will be packed 70,000 strong.

It's the Bucs tonight! Save your money!:nono:

So here is a little 10 time poster telling me this info and all that time I spent with this one play, waiting, watching. The homework part of wagering.

I got to rethink this stuff. This cannot happen again. I got to listen to others more maybe. I refuse to coattail however. The time will come again. I will be patient. Things will turn my way.

I figure after a tough loss you got to regroup and then start again. Wagering is all about decision making.

I think we need to be fearless thats for sure.

Into the dark valley of the sports books we walk.

Dont look back as it could be too late.

How many years have you won consistantly doing that money management thing ?

People say this is the only way to win consistantly. Oh ok but no one we know is doing it. Think about it.

If you can tell me you have won the last 4 out of 5 years then maybe I will listen. If you cant then there has to be a new way to win. Its a mission that if we can figure out then we can really slam the books. It wont be easy. The journey has begun.

Scott no offense brother, and am sorry for that loss, but ive been sticking to a MM system for the past 5 years of 2-7% of my BR, and i cap NBA, CB, CFB, NFL, and MLB. Not bragging of any sort but, 2001, 1998 CB, and 1999, 2000 of MLB were my only losing seasons. You need to stick to a MM system its 60% of gambling if not more, without it your doomed.

OK that is one person that has made money. Any more money managers that will speak out and have won consistantly over some years ?

I am not yet convinced.

Just trying to help you.I've won for many more than 4 or 5 years doing it,but am not into trying to convince anyone here of that nor am I trying to convince you what to do.By all means, keep doing it your way if you remain unconvinced, even after last night.Anyone who does gamble for a living shudders when they read a thread titled and posted like this one.JR Miller writes more eloquently about the subject than I ever could,(on his website and in his book How Professional Gamblers Beat the Las Vegas Pointspread.) He had a math professor break down the mathimatical ramifications of weighted betting if you care to read more about it.If you bet 10 times your normal amount on a play and lose, you wipe out the winnings from ten winning bets in the process that you may well need to weather a real losing streak. You have just tilted the odds signifigantly against yourself making money in the process of wiping out ten hard earned wins with one bravado filled loss.
