On the course!
Let me get this straight:

You scream for a couple days how your gut says take the Raiders, but a poster here tells you that gut instincts are always wrong. So, you agree, and toss $3,800 on the Rams at +8

Now, you tell us another poster, whom you respect, has talked you onto the Raiders Raft! WTF?????? AND your local has the line at
-7????? Hold the phone, Slick.

You telling me that your 'local' is taking so much action on St Louis at +8 (when the rest of the world has it at 9 or 9'), that he had to make the line -7 to get some money on the Raiders? Do you live in Simpletown, or just think the rest of us do?

I don't know what happened to you over the last month or so, but I would swear that someone killed the real Scott, and took over! Your posts have become nonsensical ramblings over this time, and get loopier every day.

So.....let's recap what you have going today:

Rams +8 $3,800
Raider -7 $3,800

Since those are odd amounts to wager, please explain to me something:

Is that the total you are trying to win, or is that the risk? What 'juice' does this 'local' charge? At any rate, I would hate to be someone who actually takes what you say seriously! I would love to be in a position where I risked my money on the Rams, based on your 'logic', only to have you switch teams at the last minute! Now, I would be forced to by back my wager at the real odds I could find out there, at -9,9', or even 10! Thus, chancing the double fukin' if Oakland wins by 9.

If your man still has Oakland at -7, please post his number! He will get all the 'buy back' he needs to ballance out that ledger!

Tell you what I did, Scott. I initially put 1 unit on Oakland at -7 on Wednesday. The line is now up to 9. I don't normally buy back my bets, but I am buying back this one for two reasons.

1 - the squares are all over Oakland now. I am not calling you a square, so don?t hyperventilate, my friend. You alone can?t drive the line from 7 to 9.

2 - Good chance for a middle or if the final margin lands on 7 or 9, I win ONE unit. Yes, only ONE unit.

Just a suggestion, Scott. If you like Oakland so much, consider teasing it with Buffalo, or with another play that you like. I wouldn't bet my paycheck on one game straight up.

Best of luck to you, buddy.

Holy chit All I said was have seen this type game many times. Has nothing to do with guts. Just waited for line to go to 9.5 and yes took St Lou. O/U drops from 49 to 47.5 I may be wrong here to. But now im playing over. I have years of reasons to play it this way. I did not just flip a coin. If Im wrong I move on. But the key is always use your headwith your money management. And I have no idea what who has for there level of play and it's none of my business.

Scott, did you not get shit hammered by the LAMBS 2 or 3 weeks ago? My plays are far smaller than yours, but damn, a team gets nut rolled on me once, I am very leary of playing them again. I think the tease is the best way to go. Good luck though:jump:

I agree djv. It's a point I was going to make to Scott before he switched sides.

The point that should have been made was that when a game/line appears TOO OBVIOUS you should take a hard look at going the other way. Still doesn't mean you bet it but take a hard look. That I believe was your point and we have all seen and posted about such games here before.

Now as to GUT instincts, personally I NEVER go against that. I either bet or pass.

On the course!
I guess we will need to wait a few hours to see who will be right:

The guys who say, "Oakland is far better. This game should be a blowout!"

Or the guys who say, "St Louis can't be this bad! The first 5 weeks must be a fluke! They are bound to cover sooner or later!"

If you think for two seconds that St Louis has anything to stop the Raiders, well........good luck. If you think the Raiders don't plan on pounding the shit out of these guys in their own backyard, well........again. Good luck.

I just laugh my ass off at the fact that some of you pick plays based on "going against the public", or "this team is due". If the Rams win today, is it because "Everyone was on Oakland, and that means St Louis was bound to win!" If that's how you want to handicap your games.........be my guest! What happens if Oakland wins by 35? Will St Louis be a 'mortal lock' next week? I mean......"there's no way they can go 0-7!!!!!!!!"

got some quotes of my own for you Scott.....

The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.

He who ignores discipline comes to povery and shame, but hwoever heeds correction is honored.

Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

He who scorns instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command is rewarded.

The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

Many more where those came from....I encourage you to seek them out.....

your case is far from being rested dr.freeze. You should read closer when the recitations apply directly to you. Or is that going over your head ?

Good luck today !

Unfortunately, Scott........You leave no other avenue but for people to 'question you'.

I'm not trying to bust your balls, but you leave yourself wide open.

Bookies that take action at 5am? Bookies that let you switch sides, and lines on a wager?

I think you like to hear yourself talk, and I hope you come around.
