Angels are in an XL Road Trip situation... so after their gm 1 WIN on Under.. should've been an immediate "Road Re-Bet" on gm 2 to go OVER!
and did I think about that,.? play it..? remind others..? NEIN I did NOT! stoopid stoopid stoopid!
Should be 2-0 today! drat :p

I retired to PA from CT. Humid here and I'm 4 hrs from GB. If you get there stay in Gettysburg hotel in center of town; great place and Presidents stayed there. Must take the bus tour with headsets, museum and electric battlefield. More killed there in 3 days of battle than Vietnam. One civilian, Jenny Wade, killed while cooking bread in her kitchen when a stray bullet hit her. You'll also see a cannon ball still showing stuck in the wall of a building. During the battle the word was that there were so many bullets fired at each other by both armies that they were colliding in mid-air. One quote about the battle was that it was "raining lead". When you see how small it was and think about men from each side marching at each other firing guns and then on close proximity using bayonets it becomes surreal. Later drive the battlefield and check out the individual monuments and you will also feel the reverence of the field. Bloodiest war on American soil ever.

spent a few hours at Tredegar, and as relatively small as it is, you could spend a whole day there, I find the clothing and weapons of war and picturing the bravery and sacrifice both fascinating and terrifying.. I easily go to those places in my mind's eye, and it's staggering to look at the numbers of participants of any of the particular battles, the deaths and casualties.. truly humbling! Another day at Petersburg (too hot to wander much, mostly car tour) and enjoyed a pleasant lunch in town and perused a couple antique stores.. then DC yesterday.. chaotic traffic situation, but enjoyed the side streets and main avenues alike.
The Washington Monument, monolith, obelisk staggering in it's scale.. White House from a distance, Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson, Vietnam memorial.. oppressive heat and humidity made physically getting to all nearly impossible for my sis in law, so we stuck to the shade and I was fine w/that... now I've been there and seen em in person!
We'll do Monticello either Sun or Mon, and fly bk to Calif on Tues... pool n bbq today! :p

another trip in the future in Spring or Fall possibly, and I'll include Gettysburg in that one.. GL guys!
