this is actually a poor play from a value postion..laying 145 on a run line is insane at best..
BUT..going to ride the streak ..
Yet another inexperienced righty ventures into Yankee Stadium and this one has never pitched there either in relief or as a starter.
Lefty hitters batting .340 vs McCarthy in 47 AB's...
McCarthy probably not as bad as his numbers would indicate especially given his last start vs Tor where he had a solid outing..But one start doesn't make a season ..On the road he has struggled big time allowing 23 hits in 13 innings..Anything close to this and Yanks get their 4 or 5 runs early .
Wang starts for Yanks..Wang carried a perfect game into the eighth inning on Saturday.
With a 16-5 record in Yankee Stadium over his career w/a 3.22 ERA in home starts the kid should pitch w/a lot of confidence.
All-Star shortstop Michael Young of the Rangers left in the fifth with tightness in his right hamstring and it sounds as though he won't start Thursday.
DH Jason Giambi was held out of New York's lineup because of a spur near his left heel that's been bothering him for a while.Giambi plans to be examined by a foot doctor Thursday.
Yankees improve to 18-2 against Texas since July 20, 2005 -- including 5-0 the past two weeks. New York (16-16) also reached .500 for the first time since dropping to 8-8 with a loss at Boston on April 21.
