Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Toronto---Belfour, who has blanked Phila twice this season, Leafs winning by combined score 9-0. Flyers plan to be tough on him today, crash net, etc and Leafs open about not expecting another shutout sez article here...............http://www.canoe.ca/TorontoSports/ts.ts-12-12-0118.html

Toronto just 3-5-1 on road, where they play 8 of next 11, and Koshan sez elsewhere in Toronto Sun:

"The Leafs realize they can make life easier for themselves if they don't try anything outlandish. Simple hockey, especially on the road when the home team may feel an inclination to entertain their fans, usually is a large part of success. Case in point is the Leafs' 3-0 victory in Philadelphia on Nov. 29, when they held the Flyers to 21 shots. Conservative and tight hockey won the day. "

Phila---Chechmanek I assume. Esche has last start.

Ottawa---Lalime sez official site. Also sez Alfredsson will play tonight......EDIT -- HOME team has won this matchup 9 of last 10 times....Ott has gone 10-1-3 since that embarrassing 7-1 loss to Boston.

Boston---Grahame? He seems the no1 guy there now, but he's just coming off his first mediocre performance in a long time. He's 1-3-0 vs Ott, 4.07 gga, .861 save pct. Shields started both meetings with Ott this season (a 2-2 tie and 7-1 Boston victory, both at home).

NJ---Brodeur. This from Bergen Co. Record "Backup goalie Corey Schwab skated briefly Wednesday and made the trip to Columbus, but was still weak from a viral infection. Scott Clemmensen will probably back up Brodeur again tonight."
Brodeur is 2-1-1 vs Columbus, 2.50 gga. All four meeting were against Denis.....NJ dismal 28th in PP.

Columbus----Denis, I expect. B Jackets are no3 in PP, and no2 in PK.

Tampa Bay---Khabib sez TB online. They also say "He has won just twice in his past 10 starts, posting a goals-against average of 3.12 and a save percentage of .909 during the span.

He was pulled Tuesday in Minnesota after allowing three goals on three shots in the second period.......Khabibulin is 1-5-3 with 3.70 GAA vs. Montreal.

they quote goalie coach insisting Khabib isn't overworked.

official site sez Khabib "has allowed at least four goals in five of his past nine appearances"

TB have lost last 6 on road.

Monteal----Hackett, I assume. official site sez "G Jose Theodore is likely to sit for the third straight game, as G Jeff Hackett has had the hot hand, leading the Canadiens to four of their five points on the road trip. "

MN-----Roloson sez official site. . Tom Jones of Star-Tribune sez Roloson "is unbeaten (3-0-3) in his past six starts. He lost 5-3 to Detroit on Oct. 19 in the only meeting between the two teams this season. . . . The Red Wings, atop with the Central Division with 37 points (same as Minnesota), are 6-0-1 against the Wild in the past seven meetings. Before that, the Wild was 2-2 against Detroit.
Roloson is 0-6-1 vs Det, 3.72 gga, .876 pct.

Detroit---Joseph. Legace's still ailing. Cujo is 4-0-1 last 5, with 2.35 gga, and has only one loss at home this season. He's 3-0 vs MN, 1.76 gga.
Det News sez "With the schedule so light currently, Lewis can comfortably go with Joseph through next Tuesday's away game against the Islanders. The schedule then becomes a little more intense with a game every other day up until the two-day league-wide Christmas break.

Don't expect Lamothe to get any playing time for now, but he could if Legace's absence extends until next week.

"I don't foresee him (Lamothe) going (playing) in the next two games," Lewis said. "We'll see after that."

Det Free Press sez "The Wild has at least a point in each of its past five games. The Wings overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat the Wild, 5-3, on Oct. 19 in Minnesota.....The Wild swaggers into Joe Louis Arena with 37 points -- same as the Wings. The team's 2.12 goals-against average ranks third in the league, and Marian Gaborik's 19 goals tops the NHL. "

Det News also has this "Forward Kirk Maltby sat out Wednesday's practice because of flu-like symptoms. The symptoms match those experienced by other Wings in recent days, so a legitimate flu bug could be to blame, not food poisoning as originally thought.

Lewis said Maltby's status for the Wild game will be determined this morning. Forwards Tomas Holmstrom and Igor Larionov, who missed Sunday's game because of sickness, practiced again Wednesday and will be in the lineup against the Wild.

STL----Johnson, sez Kerber on official site. Also sez "Recovering from the flu-like symptoms, the team is a bit healthier today and it should be a full squad for the game tonight, but the lineup won't be set until right before the game. "
official site also has this "The Blues are 16-5-2-0 all-time against Nashville, including a 7-2-2-0 mark on the road. St. Louis is 3-1-1-0 in their last five games on the road against Nashville. "
Johnson is 4-1-1 vs Nash, 1.81 gga, .926 pct. But surely rusty now....STL will be trying to avoid first 3 game losing streak of the season.

Nashville---??? "Welcome to tonight's episode of Name That Goalie." Sez this piece in Nash newspaper.............http://www.tennessean.com/sports/predators/archives/02/12/26422962.shtml?Element_ID=26422962

Carolina---Irbe I guess. Weekes isn't cleared yet, and Pelletier has played only 1 game in NHL (a few years ago for Flyers)

Calgary---Turek. He's 2-1-1 in Dec so far, 1.48 gga

Pitt----"NABOKOV VS. HEDBERG
Evgeni Nabokov was the first goaltender to leave the morning skate for San Jose on Thursday, while it appears the Penguins will counter with former San Jose prospect Johan Hedberg.." sez usually accurate SJ official site.

SJ--Nobby. He's 3-0-0 vs Pitt, 1.67 gga.

I spent too much time on this today! 3 different crap gateway machines here at UNLV crashed 4 times, but i was saving this work in progress.

good luck to all!

As always, thanks a million for the hard work. I lost a little bit of self-control and put 16% of my bankroll on the Sharkies. Let's hope Nobby is on his game tonite. Also put 8% on Minny after hearing Roloson is a go for tonite.

Good luck tonite, hope you're enjoying your stay at Vegas.:D

thanks Celyas!

thanks Celyas!

It helps my handicapping to do this, if machines behave and I don't write up too much.

Pitt paper lists Aubin as probable. He has much better record, small tho it is, vs SJ than Hedberg. But coach has been alternating their starts very predictably, and Aubin wasn't so hot in his last, so...?

Yup, having too much fun here!

Yup, having too much fun here!

I remember one game on roadswing last season Pitt had no way to win, with tons of guys out/or >100% with flu and Hedberg vomiting before game.

But they decided to concentrate, suck in guts, rally one for the sick of it, and cost me a bundle!

so going lite with SJ meself!

dang Imperial Palace wanted $100 bet to get cheap drink comps at hockey night last night. I already put the bet in online, NHL bettors have no business here with the crummy lines offered in town.

but wanted to see how IP's longrunning hockey night is doing. Not well. Old man, and former goalie, who owned the place just died.

but the Buffets at Paris and Bellagio gourmet quality! and they say Aladdin too.
