Sturtze will be one of five pitchers to throw for the Yankees, as he will be followed by Alex Graman, Felix Rodriguez, Paul Quantrill and Tom Gordon.

Torre said that all of his regulars will play on Thursday with the exception of Gary Sheffield (shoulder) and Jorge Posada (stiff neck). Giambi will DH, while Tino Martinez will play first base.

these teams appear to have edge in starters vs rookie pitching. spent too much time digging up info here.

I'm told pitchers are more ready than batters these first few weeks of spring training. think that's true?
