nflx 21-7-1 (+6.60 units)
half units 20-6-1
one units 1-1

think this is the last preseason play i'll be making, but i think it's a good one;) either way i'll gladly take my 5 to 7 units into the regular season.

jets +7 one unit

eagles suffered too many injuries against new england. d-line is hurting and banged up from practice last week as well. many players have sat out of this weeks practice on both sides of the ball. thrash is ok, but i doubt he'll play thursday. reid wants to just get through this last game w/o any more injuries. from all reports he's not concerned at all with the result of this game.

jets also want to get through w/o injuries, but they do want to get vinnie some live action.

both teams also meet again in october. think they both play this one close and clean.

value in the under 35, but i think there's more value in the points.

good luck to all:)

The news is out that Donovan McNabb won't play on Thursday night. Nor will many Eagles starters, who will dress, go through the pre-game warmups and then watch from the sidelines as players like Reno Mahe and Clinton Hart and Dirk Johnson try to win jobs on an active NFL roster. It's an exciting time for those players.

The veterans, meanwhile, are focusing on Tampa Bay.

"I'm thinking about it," said Fraley. "I'm sure they're thinking about us. It's the first game of the season for both teams. It's big. That's the next game for us."

The Eagles have gotten to this point of the preseason in good shape. They'll be without rookie defensive end Jamaal Green, a tough loss but one that can be overcome.

While teams have lost starters and stars to injury in the preseason, the Eagles are knocking on wood and crossing their fingers.

One game is all that separates the Eagles from the regular season. The preseason ends the second the clock winds down to 0:00 on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

News, Notes And More About The Eagles

Look at the Eagles special teams group for a second. The coverage units, I'm talking about. Very, very young. Fast, but young. Harbaugh will have to do a great, great coaching job early in the season.

Duce Staley has looked terrific in practice all week. There's no need to get him a lot of work on Thursday night. He's fine. I'd expect him to get 3-5 carries, max.

Will the Eagles keep only four defensive ends? It's certainly a possibility. Ivory McCoy's hamstring injury comes at the worst of all times. He's not going to play Thursday. That really hurts his chances, I'd imagine.

Ditto Scott Peters. How do you evaluate Peters, who has had a sprained ankle all summer? Last year, he contracted mono and missed time. Does he stay based on what you think he can do? "It's a balancing act," said head coach Andy Reid.

The more I hear about the job he's doing, the more I'm convinced Marty Mornhinweg is really helping this offense from the standpoint of changing the scheme slightly, working well with the other coaches and helping teach the offense to the young guys.

One other coach note: you don't know much about him, but Tom Melvin must be doing something right with the tight ends. Chad Lewis, L.J. Smith and Kori Dickerson have had great summers.

Haven't heard anything on the A.J. Feeley trade front. I'd say the Jets are out of the running, although I'll be sure to see how Todd Husak and Jamie Martin play on Thursday night. I'll say it again: keep Feeley and enjoy a fantastic threesome at quarterback.

By the way, the ESPN show "Playmakers" got terrible reviews in the Eagles locker room. What, exactly, were they trying to say about NFL players with that show? Aren't the days of "North Dallas Forty" over?
