Today?s Plays:

Wisc.-Milwaukee +5.5 ? 1 unit ? both teams struggled through the non-conf slate and are coming off of blowout losses at the end of last week. Neither team has shot well either. All that being said, Wisc.-Milw. has played a tougher to schedule at this point, so I?m going to rely on that and the fact they are anxious to start of the conference schedule well considering their poor performance last year and in the non-conference games. On paper, this team can compete with anyone in the conference besides Butler, and it is time for them to prove it.

Providence -3.5 ? 2 units ? I think there is some value in this line with the Fryars coming off a big loss to a very good shooting (and good overall) Rhode Island club. I expect Providence to make some noise in the Big East this year and think this is a great spot for them to over-power an average SEC club.

can i ask why you think there's value? you think the line's lower than it would be w/o them having gotten blown out by RI? i liked the way SC played in Orlando on that quiet neutral floor, idk how many PROV fans will make it to philly tonight for the game (maybe they'll have all Big East fans cheering for them, idk) but SC is fired up after losing to my alma mater the clemson tigers, and not a good loss for that matter. they'll be playin some D tonight, are changin the lineup a little to get some experience in and i think they win this game SU. gonna be a good watch, either way.

It was just a general statement that this line is obviously a bit smaller than what would have been if they had played Rhode Island closer, which should have happened imo given their potential. As for SC, I expected them to be pretty decent this year, but have not liked what I have seen of them so far. As for that tourney, they got by a bad Penn State team in a sloppy game and then I would have expected them to get one win against either Mason or NCState, but fell to both in close games. Then they were pretty easily handled, especially on the boards, by a Clemson team playing w/o Mays. I just haven?t been impressed to date, but maybe this is the game they come out and get a quality win.

I don?t know if there will be a lot of Providence fans there, but I can?t imagine they will be outnumbered by SC fans. I?m sure the heavy Nova crowd will cheer on their conference brethren in this one though.

Well, one of us will get a winner on this one at least. GL to you regardless.

Adding:

Nova -8.5 ? 2 units ? Going w/ the Big East again in this one. Villanova looks for a prime-time double-digit win in what will essentially be a home game for them. LSU has looked bad this year, and that is because they will be bad. They have played some pretty weak competition and folded against the only average squads they have faced. They just don?t have the talent and experience to hang with the Wildcats.

One more:

Wisc.-Green Bay Pick ? 1 unit ? would have made this one bigger, but this one scares me as a trap. I?ve looked at it from every angle and have no clue why GB isn?t favored in this one. Looks like a lot of other cappers are on them too. Not sure what is going on here.

Holy comebacks! Nova came back and won that game? They must have played a great final 10 minutes. I was too fed up with them to watch though.

Guess I get to reverse that 2H bet.

Yesterday 2-3 for -3.5 units. Still a bad day, but softens the blow a bit.
