Light card. Getaway day for a few teams. Weird situation in Washington. I understand the day off for weather at the beginning of the season, but I can't ever remember a thursday, friday off, sat, sun series like wash and az gonna play this weekend. Anyway with a light card I can spend my extra time capping the Dodgers White Sox world series :)

season: 24-17-2 +$770
yesterday: 4-1 + $593

under the lights

AZ/Wash Over 8.5 -113. Really like this game. For those of you unfamiliar with RFK, here is the dimensions: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/RFKStadium.html Not really sure how the ball is going to carry yet, but it seems to be just average in all dimensions. Time will tell. How time has turned on Javier Vazquez. Once a phenom prospect has turned to mud since going to NY. Now he gets to face his old time (sort of). Guillen adn Castilla have hit him hard before. Livan Hernandez has gotten absolutely smashed by these AZ hitters in the past. Gonzalez batting .317, Cruz .417, Green .347 3 jacks, Glaus 2 for 3 (small sample), Counsell .394. 5 guys in the starting lineup for AZ hit him well. Maybe get some bloops and stuff that fielders play wrong because they don't know stadium yet. 8.5 is a low total. Hard to see both teams not getting at least 4.

Baltimore -120. Ponson although with a 6-6 lifetime record against TB still has a solid 3.71 era against them. Only allowing 11 hrs in 126 innings is less than 1 a game. Individually, the TB batters haven't done much against him. Bell is gonna give up hits. Baltimore doesn't have a lot of power numbers against him, but they do hit for a high average as a whole against him. So, if they string some hits together, Ponson should hold them. Hate betting against a home team in danger of series sweep, but I can't pass Ponson at this price and with his success.

Detroit +125. Tigers only shot for a win in Minny. One of their bigger prospects. Looked real solid vs. cleveland last outing giving up 1 earned in 7. Radke has given up runs in his first two starts 4, and 5 respectively. He has nightmares of Mags and Pudge though. Pudge owns him at a 20 for 52 clip with 7 jacks, and mags is 23 for 57 with 2 yard. Craig Monroe going 8 for 15 as well should assure some base runners.

339/300 Wash/AZ over 8.5 -113
240/200 Baltimore -120
200/250 Tigers +125

I agree 100% on your take on the Washington/ AZ tilt. Tons of big numbers as far as BAs vs todays pitchers are concerned. I do think however that Vazquez will be out-pitched today, the Yankee stint has toasted Javier. I was somewhat alarmed by a remark I heard about him from one of the D'Back announcers last week. He stated that Vazquez said that he may consider retirement if things get don't soon get better.

Not the remarks of a man who sounds determined to fight back.

I'm thinking Dodgers in 6, but that can change once Beltran's added to the White Sox roster after the break.

Good Luck!

Not saying the Minny is the play, but you refer to Mags success against Radke in your Tigers play. In case you didn't know . . .

MINNEAPOLIS -- A day after returning to Detroit's lineup, Magglio Ordonez is returning to Detroit. He flew back Thursday to undergo more tests on an off-again, on-again viral infection that is again in the latter position.
