Pacific at Cal Santa Barb - 5

If I have my facts straight?

First round bye at stake for Barbara in Big West Tourney coming up.

UC Santa Barbara can finish anywhere from third to fifth, but will secure a top four seed with a win over either Pacific or Cal State Northridge[Big West.org]

Coveted quarterfinal and semifinal tournament byes are on the line as teams prepare for the final week of conference regular season play. The Big West Tournament, which is Mar. 7-10 in Anaheim, provides the top two seeds automatic entry to the semifinals and the third and fourth seeds a bye into the quarterfinals. The last four seeds face the daunting challenge of winning four games in four nights. It's a steep slope, with opportunities to climb to the top or roll near the bottom. [Big West.org]

Barbara won at Pacific[ UC Santa Barbara 70, Pacific 62] in what should have been a blowout..Barbara, which led by 20 points three separate times in the second half allowed Pacific to crawl back into the contest.

Match-up problem for Pacific versus Barbara's guards.Especially tuff for Pacific to check Harris who went off for 27 of the 50 points scored by the guards for Barbara in their win at Pacific.
Barbara out rebounded Pacific in that contest as well.
Guard play plus Barbara certainly should take care of the glass on their home floor given the stakes in the contest are strong components to get the win and the cover.
