favorites worth checking out
Boston/Burkett over Toronto: Sox coming off 5 game home sweep over Jays. No doubt moving Mondesi effected already struggling Jays. Boston poised for second 1/2, happy to be getting Sanchez back who was playing as well as anyone in American League at second behind Soriano. Walker has been decent for Jays, if Boston can get into bp should win going away.
New York/Pettitte over Cleveland: Pettitte coming off terrible start against Toronto. With addition of Weaver & Hernandez coming back, Pettitte must produce. Indians quickly becoming a complete disaster. Moving Colon hurt, if Thome goes this team is absolutely finished. Cleveland doesn't even have the talented Green kids Toronto has. Indians could be a real embarrassment.
White Sox/Wright over Detroit: Tigers have some kids that have talent, kid shortstop Santiago can play although rushed to majors. Young & Simon can hit although incredibly impatient. Pohuls & Felipe at least have them playing hard. Bad news is Sparks, he has been horrendous & bp offers little support. Word in Chicago w Sox either make run or salary will be cut.
Minnesota/Milton over Texas: Rangers struggled before break, and generally struggle versed LHP. Park obviously hasn't produced. Twins certainly have at Dome. Twins = better pen superior speed, great home club & team on a mission. This club plays as hard as any. Don't think for a second they would love to keep that lead & shove it up Seligs ass.
DOGS WORTH CONSIDERATION
Baltimore/Erickson over Oakland: obviously Mulder is going & Oakland has shown signs of last years streak. However Baltimore has paid better than any dog in MLB 1st half. Erickson who was previously recognized as birds ace, is now Low man on pole. Ponson Lopez & Driscoll have been fantastic, even Erickson with generous price could be worth nice home dog.
Cincinnati/Dessens over Houston: Astros finished up first half strong although major disappointment as a whole. Dessens has been better than decent, his era is 1/2 point better than Oswalt. Cincinnati can score & with that bp they are a decent risk at that price.
Los Angeles/Nomo over Arizona: no mystery Arizona bats are absent. When Nomo is going well with that splitter he is as good as anyone. Sounds strange but look at his no hitter & 2 one hitters for Boston last season. Dodgers 13-5 on his starts. On his last 3 starts he's gone 2-0 1.23, that's pretty f***ing good. Conversely Johnson hasn't been bad either, D BACKS simply not producing offensively. Maybe under 7 might be worth look also.
Good luck
