Here are two that I looked at closely tonight.

Isles at Habs

Isles on a non b2b 3 in 4, last time that happened they were trounced by Boston 4-1. Isles have lost their last two games vs. the teams they are contending with at the bottom of the Eastern conference playoff race, Boston and the Rangers. Habs have created plenty of scoring chances, but not the goals lately. Garth Snow was mentioned in USA Today as a hot player, so I am expecting somewhat of a jinx factor there. Home team has won all three meetings this season. Good price on Montreal but I wouldn't give the half puck to get the plus money because the Habs have scored a low number of goals recently (1 in their last 2 combined).

Caps at Flames

Flames in a 4 in 6 someing home off a 3 in 4 roadie with one day of rest. Caps have lots of pressure on them to win if they are going to catch Tampa. Caps have played twice in the last 9 days while the Flames have played 5 times. Flames have scored 2+ in 11 straight but that could end tonight as the Caps have given up 1 or less in 4 of 7.

WOW. Yashin is an absolute beast. My recommendation on Montreal was faulty for about a dozen reasons but chief among them was not realizing how great this Islanders team is when Yashin is playing like he is playing right now.

If Yashin carries this into the playoffs, watch out. The Isles mopped up Ottawa at the Corel Centre a few games ago and the Sens will have a serious battle on their hands if the Isles play to their potential. I dunno if I could actually predict a New York victory in a series because the Sens are just so deep offensively, but I di think that it would be a great matchup that the Isles would have a chance to win.
