UTA -3 over UL Monroe ****
Played this last nite...watched UL Mon play Texas St on 1/18 .. they give out a program before the game...these are my notes during the game.. I have to make a comment about each player so I can remember them.
UL Munnings..6'6 string bean...great move to the basket, short and long range..can drive and create his own shot..best player for UL....Alabaskis 6'11 big kid from Australia with a pony tail..back to the basket but solid..good rebounder...McDaniel 6'6 g/fd...lite skin from Australia too...nice outside shot...great form..off tonite but you can see he can shoot...Ertel..6'2 white lefty..nice...only can shoot when open...decent ball handler.. Harris pt gd can't shoot avg...they played man and zone...switched several times...better zone team vs Tex St...Munnings is the money man...now my sheet has arrows all over...looks scribbled but as long as I can understand it the next time these guys play i'm ok
Update..they have won 4 of 5 beating both Georgia teams.. McDaniel has been on fire and was named the Sun Conf POWeek...
UTA has won 4 in a row...has everyone back from lyr except Wilson got hurt... Has the best pt gd in the conf who has to be in the top 5-10 assists in the country in Neal..Has Hervey who is 2nd in scoring a NBA material...Hamilton who is a British air craft carrier because he can't score but at 6'10...Hawkins and Bryant,,,a lot of talent...this is the hardest team for me to figure out...they beat Coastal by 7...at home..they should of blown them away..they just beat my Tex St team by 2 in OT at home...Tx St scored over 70 points...are they under achievers...I guess so...am taking them again on the road..crossing my fingers and not cleaning the ash from yesterday on my forehead... most should pass on this game..the ats 1-5 on the road...ats in last 5,ats etc.. about 10 trends not to play them..about 5 trends to take UL
when they played each other 3 weeks ago.. UTA won 71-55..Hervey has 21 pts and got 8 bds..Hamilton had 11 rebounds,UL got killed on the bds 49-33...outscored them 28-6 in the paint..Ertel had 16 pts and led with 8 rebounds..what..he is the little lefty white gd...McDaniel and Munnings had 14 and 13...
So there last game tells me UTA inside has a big advantage inside..throwing out all the trends...UTA needs this win to get a bye in the upcoming Sun Tourney...the line has now moved up to -4.5..that scares me a lot but I love my -3...

I did all these games last night because I thought I couldn't post today...its bonding day with my wife....but am leaving in a few...will be back later to explain.

Wichita -11.5 **
Charles -4.5 ***
Marshall -7.5 **
Mid Tenn -7 ***
La Laf -13.5 over Tex St ****
WKU _4 over North Tex **
MAAC
Marist +10 **
Quinn +1 **
Rider -13.5 over Siena ****
Appa St -4.5 over So bama ***
Coastal over Troy-3 **

These lines have probably changed some..but to late for me...
Back later hopefully...unless a baby cub comes today

5-6 +2*'s { disclaimer...don't forget to take a few for the vig out....will figure it out one of these days...
3 putt I wish I knew about Walker for Oakland ..that's my fault.. I am so good checking out injuries...I don't do Horizon conf.... damn....but I can tell you what the pregame game meal is for Marist tonite...team bus is stopping at Dennys in Bridgeport,Conn.... they all get the number 12....but I'm not telling you guys what the number 12 is...you have to do some work yourselves...

Box, thanks again for all your posts and commentary. I again apologize for starting unnecessary problems. I checked your previous day?s results and I have you at 5-6, +3 boxes.

To calculate the vigorish, assuming a 10% rate (110 to win 100), you simply add 10% to the number of lost boxes. In yesterday?s plays, I had you at winning 16 boxes and losing 13. 13 boxes plus 1.3 boxes is 14.3 boxes. So 16 winning minus 14.3 losing would equal a plus 1.7 box day.

If your vig is closer to 5% instead of 10% (105 to win 100), you would take the 13 losing boxes times 5%, or 0.65 boxes, totaling 13.65, for a net winning day of 2.35 boxes.

Good luck today, sir!:0008:toast::0074

Sorry in a rush..the lines are what I played last night so many might have changed for the better or worse

Wichita **...think Temple is in for a rude awaking entering a Mizzou Valley gym...revenge after Temple beat them at home

Charles ** over JMU **
Charles loaded..good team..

Marshall over Rice **
The Herd offense can score...they avg 84 pts a game..problem is they give up 80 pts on the rooad...but Rice couldn't score 80 points against anybody..

Mid Tenn ***So Miss
MT can flat out play..they can score, have athletes...

WKU -over North Texas **
NT playing real good.. Smart is tearing it up for NT..but WKU is tough..should be NT's toughest game at home...WKU has dominated NT in the past...foxes lost 7 of last 10..2-7 on the road..they give up 81 pts a game on defense.

MAAC
Marist +10 over Fairfield **
On paper Stags should blow away the Foxes...both teams are bad.. but Stags have the top scorer in Nelson in the conf..Foxes can't stop anybody...would like to flip this play but already made it..and every time I change a play my original play always wins...Foxes did beat Stags 3 weeks ago 95-89..maybe the play is over????

Manhattan ]not sure of line" over Quinn **
I am changing the play.[ that sure didn't last long changing flipping plays}..Manhattan has to many players better
then Quinns.. don't know line yet..maybe -1 Manhattan.

Rider over Siena 13.5 *****
strong play....think Rider will blow Siena back up the NY state thruway via the NJ Turnpike...Saints are 1-13 on the road...still celebrating win the other day over Iona..Rider is on top of MAAC...

La Laf -13.5 over Texas St *****
Was at the last game they played where Laf won 80-55...Laf is so much bigger, stronger, quicker and more athletic...Tx plays great defense but Marq is a big gd and just shot over the small tex gds,Wshigton and Gant inside so much stronger...Tx st has no post defense..Barley,Stove, and Stroman all are built like linebackers...these guys can score but more importantly play defense... Tx St has lost 4 or 5 games by a total of 12-13 points...but not in Lafayette tonite..Cajuns win by 17-25... Tex did lose to Ga St by 2 in OT and Laf was blown out by them...but this is a seeing eye game fr me besides all the stats and trends..

Coastal and Appa St ** each.
the lines I got were already put in..so many have changed..will look at Manhattan now..

like Rider and La Laf... strong...
sorry for the rush,,good luck tonite...

Alright Box, this is right about the time of the year (give or take a couple weeks) where I begin my basketball wagering. l was at the Wiscy (my alma mater)/Purdue game last night and got them at a live line +750 when they were down by about 8 right at the beginning pf the game... They pulled it out due to a couple clutch plays and some ugly final possessions, so I finally have a solid starting bankroll to "begin" the "season". Anyway. I logged into this forum today hoping against hope that I'd find you were still around and posting ***** winners, and sure enough, some things change and some things stay the same. That is to say, I'm more than glad to see that you're still here, still posting, and still giving solid write-ups for your higher-unit games. You've been my favorite and most consistent basketball capper here since roughly when I joined MadJacks 10+ years ago, and I look forward to tailing you up through the tourney(s) this year, even though the NBA is more my go-to sport.

Anyway, I know that some of the less-heralded conferences are your expertise, and if I remember correctly Friday was often one of your bigger nights even though it generally has the least games (and certainly less highly-publicized games). So, will you have anything going for tonight that might be worth jumping on for my second major play of the NCAAB year? I see that your N. Texas squad doesn't play until tomorrow, but there are still some solid small-conference games to potentially wade into tonight, especially with the NBA on break for a few days and me a bit hungry for some action. Not to encourage wagering on a lesser-EV game just for the sake of placing a wager (I wouldn't), but just hoping you'be got something up your sleeve. All said, it's nice to be back, it's nice to see you back, and I look forward to another year of tallying up some *s as we learn more and more about these squads and you help navigate my wagering on the sports/teams I know less about personally.

With that last point said, do you do any sports other than college ball, or do you just tend to stick to the one you're best at? I wouldn't blame you for the latter in the least, but I'd at least be curious to see where you stand on some of the other sports for the sake of differing opinions and analysis. I have to think your gambling philosophy would be reasonably applicable to other sports, even if your knowledge base maybe isn't as robust. Regardless, here's to another profitable season and another nod to the wise-man's strategic outlook. Cheers.
