1 unit....boston (-180) over texas
this is really more of a play against drese. i had to watch this gas can every 5th day for cleveland the last few years. he's got potential, but he just has no clue how to get guys out consistently right now. hes VERY susceptible to the long ball, and hes not exactly off to a blazing start with texas. rangers gave him a lot of run support last outing, but angels had him on the ropes. i just think theres an enormous class edge with lowe vs. drese- and the 9/5 price actually offers some value imo.
adding: 1 unit...arizona (+135) short writeup below
adding: 1 unit....cleveland (+210) aware of change
actually, the pitching change is the reason im playing this one. i would have passed with anderson on the mound, but traber has a shot tonight. he's pitched well out of the bullpen, and now hes getting his chance to start. hes basically a jamie moyer clone. so neither pitcher is gonna be busting 90 mph fast balls tonight. i love the way traber changes speeds and he has good control- so i dont expect to see any unnecessary walks and extra baserunners for seattle. gonna take a shot on this kid. ive been impressed with him so far
adding: 1 unit....new york/anaheim under 10
not really play a "due theory" as far as expecting an under after all these yankee overs, but i do think theyll come down to earth a little tonight. as long as ortiz avoids control problems (which seem to be his achilles heel) this should be a 5-3 type game. yanks already got their series "win". not saying they wont be playing for a sweep but i dont see a slugfest. plus- no giambi in the lineup for the yanks tonight. that takes a big power bat out of there
