Rumor has it the season is beginning tonight......is this true?!?!:SIB
A pair of picks to get the season going:
UB -3 over UTEP. The Bulls will be a nice story this season, perhaps even the MAC's version of last year's Kansas, although I do doubt they'll have as guady a record. Nevertheless, the Bulls will have a winning season this year and might just notch a bowl berth. That march begins tonight where they will get a touchdown win over the visiting Miners. UTEP is talking about their showdown with UT next week and they'll be in a losing dogfight tonight against a team with 18 returning starters and primed for a breakout season. Bulls will light up the scoreboard and win 31-24.
Stanford +3 over Oregon State. I do think Stanford will be better this year, but this is more of a fade of OSU than anything else. They're completely rebuilding a defense that lost a lot of career starts from the departing class. Berhnard, the tailback, is gone after three years of being the hub of the offensive attack. Sure, they have an experienced QB, but "Oregon State Quarterback" is actually Spanish for "Turnover Machine." Perhaps my translation is off, but I think its close. OSU always starts the season slowly. The Beavers are 5-15 ATS in the first four games of the year the last five seasons, including 1-4 in their first road agmes during those stretches. On the road tonight I feel that trend will continue.
UB and Stanford.....nothing like starting the season by backing a pair of perennial powers, right!?!?:weed:
Good luck to everyone tonight and throughout the season. It ought to be a fun ride!
:toast:
