Thursday 2-1-1

NC state ?22 Push
Eastern Michigan (Washington) +20 Win
California ?11 Win
Miss -5.5 Lose

Season 4-1-1

Eastern Washington better team than creited and St. Joe, though good should never have been a top 10 preseason selection (maybe 25-30). Do not expect EW to top Cal tonight -waiting on spreads. NC State let up in the closing minutes - could have covered - lesson learned! Cal easily over a tough "Ivy" leader - could have scored more. Should not have taken Miss!

Back later with Friday's picks.

LOL,
Bill

Let's not go crazy after one game..St. Joe's lost to an inferior team, but certainly have a team that warranted a Top 15 ranking to begin the season. There aren't 25 or 30 better teams in the country. One loss, albeit a major upset, doesn't automatically discard St Joe's as a very good basketball team, Top 15 caliber team.

Hoops, you my be right about St. Joe - watched them several times a couple of years ago while in Philly - just think them giving 20 last night was too much. I am actually on them tonight giving 10 against Princeton.

Friday's Picks

St Joe -10
Cincinnatti +5
Seton Hall even
SW Mizzou St -10

Strong lean toward Tenneessee - any thoughts?

Thanks & LOLTA

I agree about St Joe's last night...teams that are in a new 'environment', such as they are with all the publicity and high rankings, etc..sometimes don't respond well early in the season...buying into the hype, in a larger favorite role than usual..and last nights game was a good indication.
