The Anteaters have been sitting as high as #2 in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage, a major reason for opening Big West play at 8-0 SU. But let?s see how the Back Nine treats them, beginning with this trip to the defending conference champ, who lost in Irvine?s building last month when their relatively short rotation (7) had been off a track-meet at Long Beach State only 48 hours earlier. This time around, Pacific will have had four days between games to plot their home-court revenge

Southern Cal head coach Tim Floyd tipped his hand last month when he said that he considered Arizona, not UCLA, the measuring stick for the program he took over last season. The Trojans play slower and smarter this season, with less chucking and more mucking. UCLA was ticked off by Floyd?s dismissal of them as a quality barometer, so they hammered USC by 19 points for the perceived insult. Floyd has already done the first-year head coach?s obligatory avenging of last season?s worst overall defeat (North Carolina), and now he gets a chance to put his money where his mouth is while Lute Olson takes bows for the compliments, then looks up at the scoreboard and calls a belated, ?What-the-hey?? time-out. Arizona won this season?s first meeting when USC was off a win at Arizona State, with only one day in between games. This time, USC has four days between games and Floyd can point to the 25 three-pointers they took in the first meeting and say, ?See, we can?t win that way!?

Denver-2 :slomo

Wouldn?t touch this New Orleans team with a 10-foot Pole, or Lithuanian. Going into a disaster-distracted season, they lost leading scorer Bo McCalebb. Recently, the kid who inherited the leading scorer status from him walked out.

Was eyeing Denver already because of the 67-48 point win over NO on the 5th. Knew their leading scorer and rebounder was out, but thanks for the info about the second leading scorer. I went big but scared that something fishy is going on. Would have thought the line would be around 8

The lne is pretty right on.... the numbers I use have Denver by 2.5. I would think it'd be closer to 6 though.... weird.

Northeastern -12.5 blowout

Go against Northeastern and you?d be trying to tackle a team with NIT aspirations, the nation?s leading assist-maker ? a senior guard who also scores 22 per game ? and his stellar, shot-blocking teammate. Your ammo? A visitor that struggles to shoot 40% from the field, and whose leading shot-taker is a freshman hitting 33% from the field overall, with a 2-12 record in its last 14. Good luck to you, you?ll need it.

Good Luck on your plays Raymond. Jose Juan Barea for Northeastern is a stud. This kid will put on a show tonight as they throttle Bill & Mary. This may be the easiest bet on the board.

So. Cal
the trends all point to an sc win

every even year since 98 sc has won at the sports arena....last i looked this was 2006....and this arizona team is up and down and pruitt and young are a great 1-2 punch

the sports arena will be rocking with maybe 10k in attendance :)

after sat's horrible performance vs unc (where adams and williams were apparently both extremely sick) i'll take arizona to end the trend!
