KC, hope you didn't play Ari under last night. That play was 8-0 going into last night. I find this interesting. Every 8-0 play I have had this year (3) have gone south. Good luck today. Have a interesting situation in the Cubs game today. Cedarstrom is 8-2 over this year and my other trend that is more reliable is also 8-2 and calling for the over. There's that 8 again. With pitching, bull-pens and wind all pointing to the over this should be a interesting game.

Good luck today.

Thanks for the replies guys. Very much appreciated!

Updated record through the Dodger game:

MLB: 144-118 +115.74 units
Fav: 32-27 -26.81 units
Dog: 55-64 +68.56 units
Ovs: 17-10 +26.69 units
Uns: 40-17 +47.30 units

gsp, I didn't play the under on th ARZ game last night, but really disappointed "forcing" one more play, it cost me 10 cents for the day.

For anyone new to baseball, I post all my records. The point, you must be much sharper than I am, if you make money playing favorites.

Might as well point out, there are many on this board sharper than myself.

Also, take a look at the total record. If you play everyday, the overs were coming in like crazy the first two weeks, and personally fell behind more than anyone wants to
know. Favorites were also pulling there weight early, according to how I play. Out of 17 under losses so far, over 10-12 were in the first two weeks. Feel that was a bit of an anomily this year.

As the temps warm and prevailing winds are blowing out, look for more overs. And of course, umpires are coming into play as gsp has pointed out. I'm always careful playing totals in the first game of a series with unknown umpires. The stats or line action better back it up, or pass, big time!

I want to add a little editorial, very little, but here goes:

When the players decide to strike in August, as I feel they will, MLB will be destroyed forever. Start boning up on Triple A stats. Gambling on baseball will never go away, but as we know it will change come August, if something unforseen doesn't happen.

In the mean time, hope to get to +200 units 3 years in a row, looks like we may have to do it sooner than expected.

SEA ov 9 +101 4 units
NYY +172 4 units

Well it's been awhile since I've seen this long of a post from you, Wolf. I hope that means that you're slowing down at work.

I have never looked to bet on baseball until this year so the question may sound stupid, but in previous strikes. were there lines on minor league games? I wouldn't think that the books would put the effort into putting up lines for Triple AAA games with the NFL preseason in full swing.

Thanks again for taking the time.

Bobby,

Never a dumb question. Have never seen a line on triple A. Just trying to say it might happen this year.

This has been a very busy year for me, but I've learned to watch line movements in the NFL over the last few years.

Learning to do the same with baseball. I finally have a very, very good teacher. Still a novice, trying to interpet line moves, have always been decent in evaluating stats..feel for the situation..and a few people around the country in the know..etc.

Bottom line, line movement interpetation is important to me. Reason for my late posts. I look at 3-4 other handicappers before placing a bet, at most. Generally, never look at any thread here or anywhere else until I have time, most often after the play is made.

Hats off to you guys and gals that post stuff early and win. I print off the early lines in baseball and football when they come out early morning, then watch. Five percent of all my plays over a year are placed early. Hope to improve on that in the future.

I'm sure some of this does not compute, but just ask if you have a question. When I'm asked a question, and have time, more than likely will give you solid reasoning behind the plays. Just not able to do that much during spring through September.

Right or wrong, win or lose, many minutes/hours go into every play I post. Many, many others do that here also. More do so than I, I would suspect.

Going to bed, will be up again in 6-7 hours.

Great call on LA today. Sure glad to hear you didn't play Ari under. Don't mind losing my money but sure hate to be responsible for someone else's. WLA went 6-0 today and didn't make me a penny. Your comment on playing fav is dead on. You have to hit right at 70% to make money if you played the same money every bet. I've just about got to where I won't play any game that I don't know the ump. Good luck tomorrow

KC Wolf,

I can tell by your results that you spend a ton of time on your plays as the results speak for themselves. I didn't mean anything by my post, it just seems that you've been pretty busy lately and I enjoy your writings and reasonings when you have the time.

I don't think that I could ever follow line movements as it seems that it would be a second job and I've accepted the fact that I will never be a good baseball handicapper as I just don't enjoy the game enough to put in the time. But I've done well stealing your plays as well as Jack's and Nick's.

I don't like to be a leech ; I promise to give back in NFL and College Foots . :D

PS If you ever have any mind-numbing, number-crunching handicapping problems that you need solved, feel free to delegate it to me. Honestly, it's the least I could do.

IE (Why'd you change the nick?)

I tried it earlier in the year and then had to go out of town and I lost track of the team. I can't read the White Sox at all. I love Danny Wright and John Garland (and Kip Wells, too) and I thought Buerhle was headed for a 8-14 type year. I just think that my analysis is way too public to make any money and I hate giving out plays that I'm not sure of.

Maybe I'll just post information and have a huge disclaimer on every post :)

Buehrle to start Friday vs. Tigers in rotation switch

BOSTON - Mark Buehrle and Todd Ritchie combine to give the White Sox a pretty formidable 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation.

But the Sox' next three starters - Dan Wright, Jon Garland and Gary Glover - are still considered unproven commodities.

Garland was brilliant against the Red Sox on Wednesday night, and Wright has been solid in his last two outings.

But in an attempt to bolster the back end of the starting rotation, manager Jerry Manuel decided to shake things up.

Instead of taking his regular turn against the Tigers on Friday, Glover has been pushed back a day.

That means Buehrle starts against Detroit in the series opener at Comiskey Park. The Sox' ace will be followed by Glover, Ritchie, Wright and Garland.

"I was looking for an opportunity to split up the three kids,'' Manuel said. "We had talked about it as a group. Going into a series and you have those three kids pitching, that's kind of a mental edge for the opposition.''

Doing the job: It looks like the White Sox have finally found a reliable setup man for closer Keith Foulke.

No, it's not Bob Howry or Antonio Osuna, who shared the role earlier in the season.

It's Damaso Marte.

Acquired in a March 27 trade from the Pirates, Marte hasn't allowed a run over his last 8? innings.

The left-hander doesn't speak English well, but manager Jerry Manuel was happy to talk about Marte.

"It's a surprise that he's done so well, a pleasant surprise,'' Manuel said. "He goes right after hitters. He comes in and throws strikes and he blows some balls by people.''

Marte has been so dominant lately that Manuel is thinking about giving him some save opportunities.

"He has shown that he doesn't have any fear, or hesitancy, for getting us to (Foulke),'' Manuel said. "Against teams that are primarily left-handed, he might be a guy that could even save a game for us. That would be a big, big bonus.''

Huddle up: Manager Jerry Manuel doesn't know what was discussed in Tuesday's players-only pregame meeting.

But he was pleased that veterans Kenny Lofton and Frank Thomas took the initiative to organize the event.

"That's always good, when you get a team that polices itself,'' Manuel said. "That's a sign you've got a good thing going.''
