Sounds like you have younger kids......that is when Christmas is the most fun. I always liked coming up with ideas for my kids at Christmas time. Plus I enjoyed playing a few pranks on them at Christmas time. They always make for good stories when they get older.

I did this to my middle daughter. This was obviously before every two year old had their own phones. She wanted to get her own phone so bad. Her older sister already had a phone. She had showed me the phone she wanted that slid open and had a little keyboard.

So I took one of my old flip phones and put the plastic on the outside and on the screen so it looked new. I still had the box it came in. She opened it up and was so excited that she got a phone so she wasnt the only sixth grader in america without one. Then I put a post it in the box that gave her new phone number.

Then I had her older sister open up her present. Of course it was also a new phone but it was the one that had the slider like my middle daughter wanted. She now went from excitement to why didnt I get the one I wanted.

I let her stew for a little bit. Then I told her to have her older sister call her to see if it was working. Of course it wasnt. But there was another box under the tree with that was ringing....with the slider phone she wanted.
